Jun Wen's colleagues asked me to give them what they call as "rejects" from Bangkok. As we aren't able to try on the clothings in most of the stores, they are quite sure I will have clothes I rejected buying from there. True enough, I have 2 that I didn't like when I fit them on. Lol. Two out of the 20+ that I bought. (Simba decided to change a day of sightseeing to fuly shopping!) They must be so disappointed! Bangkok clothings are so nice and those maxi dresses or other dresses are a sure fit! :D
First time I spent my birthday overseas!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes dears!
Hello dears!
Ever feel so tired on Monday and thought u will be more energetic on Tuesday and discover that u are wrong in the end? I feel tired on some Mondays, more tired on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and can't open my eyes and ears on Fridays.
Was dining at the Korean Charcoal BBQ Buffet today and found it hard to fight my eyes open. I already had a hard time stuffing in the leftovers on our table. What a day! But my week will end on Wednesday this week! Once I reach Bangkok on Thursday, I will be a totally different from how I am at work. I guess lazy people are like that! :D
Here is the Day 1 and 2 of the Bangkok Itinerary I have created.
Day 1
- Check in at hotel (Did I say we will be staying in Pratunum Pavilion Hotel?!!)
- Pratinum Fashion Mall
- Pratunum Wholesale Night Market
- Khao San Road Night Market
Day 2
- Bangkok Dolls Museum
- Krungthong Plaza , Apparel Center
- Siam Square
- Bonanza Mall
- Suan Lum Night Bazaar
- Khlong Lot Night Market
ALL SHOPPING! Lol. I always have the impression that Bangkok exists only for tourists to shop at. No sightseeing is ever needed. I wanna buy crochet shorts! :D
And here is Day 3 that Jun Wen planned.
- Taling Chan Floating Market
- Wat Pho
- The Giant Swing
- Democracy Monument
- Souvenior Shopping
- Mahakan Fort
- King Rama VIII Bridge
- Chao Phraya River & Waterways
- Wat Arun by the river at Sunset
- MBK Center
- Swensen’s Dessert
He compensated the shopping with a day of sightseeing!
His schedule is always madness. The Hong Kong Itinerary was solely created by him. And throughout the trip, u will only hear him shout to u, "Hey, quick quick! We need to follow the schedule! We are already late" And u find yourself brisk walking behind him and catching your breath. Lol. But thinking back, it is cool that we went to every place scheduled in the itinerary.
Day 4 will just be Chatuchak Weekend Market before we head for the airport. :D I told him that I remembered there wasn't much shopping that will interest us in Chatuchak. Jun Wen insisted on going. The reason was... If his friends find out that he had been to Bangkok without visiting Chatuchak, he will be really embarrassed. Lol.
Will blog again this Wed okie!
Happy Birthday to me!
I have finished 3 seasons of The Good Wife. Now I'm at Ugly Betty Season 2. :)
Just love the feeling of coming back home after a day's work and watching something I like.
That day at work, CS was telling me how lucky he has been since young. Something about how he said it moved me. It could be his tone, the genuine smile on his face, that sincere pair of eyes or all of these combined. He could be so appreciative about what he has achieved so far in his life. The things he has been grateful for he remembered so vividly, every accomplishment he has made he has cherished and every blessing granted to him he has counted one by one. And wow, it was truly heartwarming. He said he owed most of it through luck and believed that other than hard work, luck is a significant factor attributing to success. If you don't have luck, you probably won't succeed as things don't go you intend them to be.
In my opinion, I like to think it this way: You have to work hard to be lucky. If you kept trying and trying, you will eventually become lucky. Just keep trying, don't get stagnant, move, travel, take a class, take a risk. Leave all the brokenness behind. Embrace today with all your bravery, your fortitude, your faith and intensity to keep travelling down the life path. You will get lucky. I promise.
He made me begin to feel guilt. I felt responsible for not being appreciative of the things around me. Just recently a long-time friend told me that he felt that my life has been smooth all this while. My reaction to his comment was to smile and dismiss it. I did not feel exceptionally privileged or lucky. Now that I think about it, I thought maybe it's greed making me less satisfied and less thankful. :(
Sometimes I'm too blind to see my life as a whole and appreciate it. I get affected by insignificant lousy events. I know I shan't feel this way but couldn't help it.
I should learn to accept that I'm blessed all this while and not forget the things that I was appreciative for. :D I have worked to come this far and shouldn't always doubt myself. There is still so much that I can learn from others.
:)
Hi friends! It's April! Lol. I am going to annoy all of u with the word 'April' until my birthday is over!
My tutee's mum is kind of hinting me to teach a class of Korean pupils in her tuition center part time next year. I tried hard to ignore the hint. Lol. Omg, I find it so hard to reject someone, especially when she is so kind and nice. Sometimes, she bought me biscuits and chocolates. Other times, she treated me to dinner. And other other times, she just added more "commission". My tutee got accepted by a branded school and transferred to it just this Jan and her mum was really grateful for it. Omg. I just happen to have a bright tutee who scores more than 85 for every subject. Are all Koreans so generous? :D
Jun Wen just bought a new desktop. He is a very surprising person. He would think of random stuff and the next thing u know, he has done that random thing. Like the day before he bought PS3, he told me he was going to buy it and the next day I saw it sitting in his room. Lol. This time it was almost the same, except that he gave me a week's notice. I slowly dug out the reason that he needs the desktop for. He bought a computer game and needs a efficient desktop to suit its specifications. Lol right! People buy games to play on their desktops and he bought a desktop to play his game?
Every time any occasion is near the corner, Jun Wen will be very troubled about what present he can get for me. We have run out of things to buy actually. He asked me what I want as a gift. And of course, I would say anything. But this time he asked a few more times, like if I want Wii and I said "No no, I don't want Wii. Just miscellanous stuff". And he knew that whenever he buys miscellanous stuff, I would wear it for a day or two and he will never see it again. And the things I really really want is way too expensive to be mentioned. I would buy them myself one fine day.
Lol. So to make his life easier, we went shopping together! I choose all my gifts for a change.
1st misc stuff: a iPhone cover.
I only like covers with covers! Which means there should be a flap covering the front screen of the phone. I grow to be more and more protective of my phone. I dunno why. I used to say "Oh it's okie never mind" whenever I dropped my Nokia phones (They would exclaim loudly for me but didn't expect such a response from me).
My old one has spoilt after 5 months! I was swinging my phone right in the presence of my colleagues in order for them to notice that my cover was so wrecked. And they might just probably buy me a cover for my birthday. Instead, they didn't notice and when I had no other choice but to request this gift from them, they would pretend that they didn't hear it.
But Jun Wen has bought it. We went to the top level of Plaza Sing to get it. Love the patchwork design so much!
And whenever we went to Plaza Sing, I would stop by a shop that sells Sanrio stuff. And I saw this:
It was love at first sight. Cutest thing ever invented I think! I love the black bow
And that was gift #2.
Gift #3 is a skirt, which I somehow can't get a good picture of. I would show it to you some another day when i was wearing it out to the streets.
:D Nights dears!

:D Continue tml! Nights dears!
Decided to blog two posts in a row. U should scroll down later for my 2nd post.
Went to Science Centre as Jun Wen has received 2 free Omnimax theatre tickets from his company. The last time I went to Omnimax Theatre was when I was in Primary School. I forgot what show it was screening at that time, let alone did I remember what I learnt. I only recalled losing my spectacles and felt really bad about it the whole day. Lol.
Have u forgotten how Omni-Theatre look like? I can't remember too. Until I went into it. It was a dome-shaped screen. It creates an illusion that u are a part of the show. And as the show went on, u felt like u were moving along with the waters in the screen. It made me want to vomit though. I have carsick remb? Had to close my eyes sometimes to take a break from the motion pictures.
Taken outside Science Centre.
One of the shows screening in Omni-Theatre: Flying Monsters.
As we entered the Science Centre, this electronic dinosaur was moving its head and tail.
Couldn't capture a complete shot of this dino since it was too huge. :D
I wanted to watch Flying Monsters while Jun Wen was more interested in Amazing Caves. It was only 3pm in the noon and the showtime for Flying Monsters was 6pm, and 8pm for Amazing Caves. I told Jun Wen that we can try buying Flying Monsters ticks first, and he agreed. But these tickets were sold out when we got to the ticketing counter. I wondered if Jun Wen was involved in secretly praying for the tickets to be sold out.
We headed to Jcube, the new mall at Jurong East while waiting for the 8pm show. We also conveniently took photos with other Omnimax theatures.
And since our show would start only at 8pm, we went to JCube, a newly opened mall by Capitaland in Jurong East. Not all shops in it were opened yet. The new ice rink was opened! A hockey game was on-going when we passed by. Crowds of people were all around the ice rink.
Went into an unique store in JCube. This store came up with a new creative idea of having shoppers shop for shoes placed on racks. You can go to the section that has shoes your size, take a pair of shoes from the shoebox and try it. If u like it, u take the shoebox and pay for it. Shopping has never been easier.
I got really hungry in the early evening since I had a very light lunch. I always wanted to try Watami. I forgot who recommended me Watami food since my impression of it stayed great.
We had to queue before going in since the restaurant only began its operations at 5 plus.
And here we were. I didn't know that they didn't really have main courses in the menu. They were mostly varieties of side dishes. Hence, we decided on a Special Set for 2 at $59.
Jun Wen holding the set menu.
Stove for the Hot Pot.
He was sleeping while waiting for the food to come. Lol. He has been waking up early these days.
The above were parts of the whole set. We got really full halfway. The food was awesome but the portion was too big! We had to ask the waitress to pack our pizza for us to take home.
And finally it was 8pm and we were ready to go into the theatre.
It was too bad that no photography was allowed in the theatre.
:D
It was again a new experience in the theatre. A bit about the show:
Journey Into Amazing Caves tells the story of Nancy Aulenbach and Dr. Hazel Barton, who share a love for caves and cave exploration. Join these two accomplished cavers as they explore unusual caves, like ice caves in Greenland and underwater caves in the jungles of Mexico, looking for important clues about the Earth's past and microorganisms that inhabit its most extreme environments. On the giant screen, this unique story will transport viewers on an adventure to some of the most extraordinary environments on earth.
Took a few more photos when we came out of the theatre.
It was an very graphical exhibition on the planets in our universe.
Tell u a secret: I am recently learning not to always strike a stiff pose whenever the camera is pointing at me.
I try to put one leg ahead of the other. Lol.
I bought these very cute hair accessories from a store in JCube. They were having a 30% off storewide.
Love the unique designs, since a band consists of two "decorations". I thought I didn't see those anywhere in Sg.
This is how the hair tye looks like on your hair.
The volume of the decoration gets big. Lol.
CS bought us an elephant keychain each from Bangkok! Lol. We were pretty touched and surprised that he did buy us something since before he left for Bangkok he told us not to dream of him buying anything for us. Lol.
I am satisfied with how this photo turned out to be.
- April is my month! :D Always feeling on the top of the world for the whole of April. Singtel birthday vouchers, 20% off Topshop and 20% off New Look!
- My friend Coreen is getting married in 3 months' time and has invited me to her wedding! It's my first time attending a friend's wedding. I'm so excited about it. :D Lol. I know plenty of you guys have attended countless and I wonder why I haven't attend one. Am I too anti-social? Ooops! Lol.
I saw one of her latest photos and she really look much slimmer than before. Omg! During the time I knew her about 2 years back, she was trying to slim down to prepare for her wedding! And she succeeded. No wonder my ex-intern supervisor told me never underestimate a woman's determination! I wanna be like her too. :D
- I have gone for 3 sessions of IPL facial (Please don't tell my mum!). I have been looking forward to doing Chemical Peel since ages ago but didn't have the money to. I booked a Groupon voucher a month ago to do Diamond Peel but the beautician told me to switch to IPL since my skin is too sensitive to peels. I am hopeful about the results! IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a facial treatment that uses laser light. I use laser light in my work so yea I love lasers. Lol.
U know I really didn't mind about my skin condition.. But I'm getting married (in like 3 years' time) and I have to prepare for it. LOL. Super kiasu. I'm going for braces too. And I have to find ways to slim down, which is super hard. About whitening, I give up. Lol. I will just stay as a dark-skinned person. :D
- Getting my bonus and pay increment 2 days before my birthday! So excited about it. My birthday gift. Lol. And I'm really looking forward to spend my birthday in Bangkok. Shop till I drop! CS is back from Bangkok and bought 16 shirts from there. I wanna buy more than him!
- My dad has Facebook now. LOL. I created an account for him. Please add my dad!
- Wanna dye my hair again. What kind of gold this time? Ehss..
- We opened a joint account so that the next time u come to my new house u can see some furniture and a TV. LOL.
- My younger brother saw me watching repeated Friends episodes one day and got me to give him some. He was hooked onto them and now he began watching The Big Bang Theory, and almost everyday I heard loud laughter across the room. He also tried watching How I Met Your Mother but didn't like it. Just like me. Lol.
I am here to blog about the fatter Jun Wen. Lol. I was stalking Jun Wen's Facebook photos again and I accidentally click the back button and the Jun Wen 4 years back appeared on my laptop screen! I have forgotten how skinny he used to be. Jun Wen and I have started to investigate when he started to grow fat.
So here goes.. Let's go back into 2008.
Jun Wen 2008. My birthday at Fish & Co. He looked so young!
Jun Wen in Dec 2008 [KL trip with Joe, Miao & Tuck Wei]. 52kg.
Jun Wen 2008 Kayaking trip with his hostel friends.
Jun Wen in 2009. Hollywood Dino.
Do u remb he used to look this way? Long gold hair.
Somehow he reminded me of Matthew Perry from Friends.
LOL.
Outside Jurong Bird Park.
Jun Wen and me 2009. In NTU ADM library studying for exams.
Jun Wen 2009 Xmas. Lost 4kgs and became 49kg.

Jun Wen Feb 2010 CNY.
Jun Wen May 2010 Sentosa. Still maintaining his weight.
Jun Wen 2010. Picnic with his friends. One of his thinnest periods. Lol.
Jun Wen June 2010 Taiwan. Gained back weight to 52kg. Can you see the change?
Changed a little. Shorter hair? More mature looking? Lol.
Jun Wen Jan 2011. Shopping for Ling's bday present when Nex first opened.
Lol. Found this photo of him and Joe.
Jun Wen Feb 2011 CNY. Glad that he got more familiarized with my sec sch guy friends.
Jun Wen in 2011. Chilling with my friends.
Jun Wen May 2011. USS few days after our last last exam!
Kite Flying. Gained a little I think.
Nice photo so I must put it up too. Thanks to Sharon's camera!
More recent photos. Jun Wen End June 2011. Bi Han's birthday.
Jun Wen July 2011 Vietnam.
Fatter? Lol.
On the way to Vietnam!
Jun Wen end Jul 2011 graduation.
Cute!
Jun Wen Aug 2011 Hong Kong.
Jun Wen Aug 2011 Convo Ball.
Jun Wen with Kuan Chian at Convo Ball.
Jun Wen End Oct 2011 Halloween Horrors. After we started working. The more obvious gain of weight. Lol.
Jun Wen as Red Indian Dec 2011 DSTA Gala Dinner, when I started realizing that he gained weight.
Jun Wen Xmas 2011. Friend's wedding dinner. Nice natural photo! Love it. This was taken by his friend, the photographer I raved about all the time.
Jun Wen beginning Feb 2012 CNY at his hall friend's house. I think sometimes some cameras make people look fatter. Especially when I suspect it's a zoom. So we can't judge using this photo.
Jun Wen mid Feb Taiwan with his army pals.
Much more obvious. Lol.
LOL.
Jun Wen Mar 2012 USS Sentosa, to take all thrilling rides with his adventurous friends. I didn't go as I really didn't want to be a spoilsport. Lol.
Jun Wen Mar 2012. Kevin's choir performance. The day Bi Han told him he gained weight. Lol.
Dinner with Carine.
Most recent photo, Apr 2012 DSTA outing with his colleagues. While I was preparing for some auditing to be done in our lab, Jun Wen spent that Friday with his company people at Sentosa. Their company bonding! GRRRR..
Thanks for going through all the photos! :D So our conclusion is that he has been slowly gradually putting on weight since 2011. We didn't realize until recently. He didn't really eat more or exercise less. Think it's because of having a desk bound job? Or that his metabolism rate has slowed? Don't misunderstand me, I'm truly glad that he, although very unwillingly, is trying to reach an agreement that when I stand next to him I don't look so fat. LOL.
