Just finished my 3rd day at Isetan Supermarket and I must admit I am getting old. I stood for 8 hours only first day and
have some backache! It's Isetan's policy for everyone to stand straight and smile! Lol! Smile for 3 days and felt my cheeks ache. I'm in the Seafood department by the way! I sell expensive Japanese scallops, clams, squids, octopus and black soybeans!
Have not switched on my laptop for 3 days too! Cos I was so tired from work! Now blogging from my phone :)
Saw Berlinda the MediaCorp actress on my first day and Xia Xue on the second! Wows! I finally saw Xiaxue! She is wearing wedges and is only the height of my shoulder! :D People who saw her in person said she is fat. But I can swear she is not! :) Quite pretty! It may sound weird that I kind of like Xiaxue! I feel that she is quite nice to her friends! :P
I guess all the rich people goes to Isetan Supermarket!
Just to update that I'm enjoying my job! Remember I told u guys about the Isetan interview that sorts out the not so cheerful people? And I'm surrounded by the cheerful new friends I made during work ;) I really like them cos they never complain and always laugh! Lol! The sad thing is they are all younger than me!
The best thing about the job is I can talk and talk! Customers will listen to me! Hahahaha! It's great! Previously I was quite afraid that I might have to persuade the customers for a long time to make them buy! But I am terribly wrong! I guess food is the easiest to sell! After they tried the food samples they will buy! My first time being a promoter and yeahs, it isn't disappointing!
And the Japanese chefs are very nice! I can only catch a few Japanese words in the sentences they say but can understand the rest by some actions. :) Cool right! I can write in my resume under the skills section "ability to communicate with the Japanese" and I can work in a Japanese company! Lol!

Summary of what I did
Was blogging at Jun Wen's house when his bro, Jun Jie, saw that my blog title was 'Happily Ever After' and he laughed like mad. 没礼貌! I am going to change it! Don't you think 'Hui Jin' will make a nicer title?! LOL.
Was registering for convocation and had to complete this survey. The first question was about my employment status.
And every option is very optimistic!
One goes, "Actively looking for a job."
And the funny thing is if you put "Not actively looking for a job", you have to state your reason, or u cannot register for your convocation.
Wa lao! I wanted to write "I am taking a rest" or "I don't feel like it" but kind of afraid that it would dampen the image of my course of study. Hahahahaha! So I wrote "I am going for my graduation trips."
I will be starting work this coming Tuesday. Omg, finally some things to do!
Jun Wen and I met Bi Han and Sharon for Bi Han's birthday, and Bi Han asked, "So what have you been doing today before meeting us?"
And my reply was, "Erm.. Nothing..?"
And she said, "Oh.. What about the past one month? It has been a month since exams ended. What have you been doing all this while?"
The "What have u been doing?" was in Chinese. It becomes "你在做什么?"
I answered "做 bo!"
It feels great to be some 无业民族. But like what Sharon has said, holes in pockets are getting bigger day by day. YES! I will be begging for a job by the time i come back from overseas!
BUT it has been so cool to sleep till 12pm and watch 2 onlines movies every night! :D
After I took a look at my camera's photo, I realised I have been doing some things! In fact, i have done alot of things.
So...
Before I summarized what I have been doing, let me show u the two things I bought from USS~

It's the Magdacascar's giraffe hairpins! Lol! It costs $9.90 k! Simba laughed so hard at me.
And a necklace that costs only $10! :D
And before I summarized what I have been doing, let me show me my graduation night dress! It is a tea green dress with gold details. I love it! I dunno if it will be too casual. But since it is a maxi dress, it must be abit formal! Shall use a black necklace and heels to go with it!

(Extracted from Missypixie )
Here is a list of what I did!
1.

Went cycling with Simba at East Coast Park. He kept trying to persuade me to climb the tree but in the end, he climbed it himself. I could sense that desire of tree climbing coming out from him. Lol. This is my boyfriend who loves to climb trees. *Applause*

Cycled to Bedok Jetty.
That headless picture was Simba's idea. He loves to see me look stupid. Lol.

Our bikes. I wanted to get the two-seater bike but Simba said he had no confidence of my safety! I said I could sit in the front seat since I have the experience but he refused instanteously! How great this guy's ego can be! Hahahaha!

One JC girl came and volunteered to take a photo for us with a favour in return. She wants Jun Wen to help her with a photo too! The wind was so strong.. I wanna fish someday!

It was drizzling when we took this photo and had to cycle as fast as we could for shelter.
2.

Joe's and Miao's birthday. Joe was born a day later than Miao. K Dinner and then Paulaner!
3.

Since Ying didn't fulfill her attendance for their birthdays, she initiated a meet up for the following week.
We had dinner at Saizeriya, a restaurant that i went to with my Uni friends a few times. Recommended by Sharon. (I still remembered the time we ate the snails together. Omg, I hope it is not walking in my stomach right now!)

With everyone except Miao. She was back in Beijing.

Ling brought her Absolute Vodka Mandrin and we went to Meiya Supermarket to get cranberry, blueberry and green tea to mix with it. We also had the Big Bang seaweed. Followed the guys to this blue bridge near Liang Court.
Very nice shot~ taken by Calvin and Ling!

My first time picnicing at night :D

And we all turned blue!
I love it~

Ling said we looked like Avatars!
4.

Kite flying on the grass patch opposite Simba's house. It was Fathers' Day that day and Simba's dad went out with his mum while my dad was working. And Simba said he will be the father for the day! Lol! He sure knows how to make use of every occasion to have me treat him to dinner!
Simba kept laughing at this photo in which the penguin kite looked totally dead.Look at how tanned I am now!
5.

We celebrated Bi Han's birthday at EwF (Everything with Fries) in Orchard Central and went Starbucks after that. Another June baby.
Had our laugh hearing about how Bi Han picked her friend's hair tye up from the 2.1m swimming pool!
6.

Jun Wen and I met up with Carine and Sharon to discuss our Vietnam trip! Yeahs!
The best thing is, the girls came to NEX! Lols!!

The New Zealand's Natural Cafe was where we went to have high tea at. We each ordered a root beer float where we get to choose the ice cream flavor out of the many varieties!
The root beer kept on foaming up and overflowing! We had to sip it fast.

Simba recommended them Pao Xiang, which specializes in Bak Kut Teh! Sharon said she is going to bring her dad here!

The mini tea cup. The tea and soup are free flow by the way.
7.

Went ot Guilin Restaurant at CCK stadium for Jun Wen's granny's birthday! It was a 8-course dinner and the food was great! They served shark's fin soup and Jun Wen looked very sad. He was persuading me not to drink it, lol!
Jun Wen and Jun Jie!
Jun Wen ordered a glass of red wine since it's free! Lol!
While Jun Jie was in the toilet, Jun Wen poured some red wine and Chinese tea into Jun Jie's orange juice. All the cousins were trying hard not to burst out laughing when Jun Jie drank it. Poor Jun Jie didn't know that his brother played a prank on him even after finishing the drink. When asked, he said he thought someone accidentally spilled something into his drink. Innocent Jun Jie!

All the cousins with their granny. The frame was done by their uncle.
Their aunts and uncles are very friendly people. They added me on Facebook and one of the aunts knew i went to Hainan! She said she looked through all my Hainan photos and my captions of them. And she knows it must be my first time to China! Omg! So paisehs!

Me and the nice dessert.
8.

Just now, Jun Wen and I went to the newly opened Woodleigh Station. Lol!
Th station features 'Mr Gobbler'!

And we walked all the way to Aljunied, passing by this park with these scary stones. Lol!
Simba walked halfway and gave up! Lol.
I walked all the way through it. Yeahs! Simba was so impressed and I told him I used to practise it with my family lol! And he thought I was a pervert who likes therapy that involves torture!

Hainan Day 2
Still giving tuition lessons to my tutee, Joanna. During the last lesson I had with her, she wanted to put her pen into the spinning fan. I said no! And she insisted that I gave her 3 good reasons.
And here goes,
1. Your fan will be spoiled.
2. The pen will fly off and hit u.
3. The pen will fly off and hit me.
And I didn't know why she laughed so hard about it. But am so glad that she didn't do that dangerous act. Was telling Simba how my heart can beat 10 times faster than usual 1/2 hour before I meet Joanna everytime without fail. Lol.
Recently have become really tanned and loving it. Cos of the outdoor activities Simba and I have been involved in~ I decided to not go shopping and turned to more sports. The sunburned skin has caused some itchness and an uncomfortable feeling, but who cares! I like to be very dark lol!
Have booked our air tickets to Vietnam! The dates are confirmed. July will be a busy month. Yeahs! We will be travelling by Tiger Airways. The air ticket costs $133 (after the tax and everything). Is it considered cheap? I think so!!
20th Jul - 24th Jul : Vietnam
27th Jul : Convocation
31st Jul - 5th Aug : Hong Kong
6th Aug : Convocation Ball
My convocation (graduation ceremony) falls on 27th Jul (Wed)! I will meet u all about 12pm in my school. Please tell me soon on whether u can come! :D However, I can't be with u all for very long that day cos I should be going with my Uni friends to some places in Sg to take photos lol. But maybe I can join u all at some place after that. :D
Song Hua and Chia Liang are having their special term examination on the 27th Jul in NTU as well! Lol. They will be in school at the time of my convocation but they said if they feel that they haven't done well, they won't come as they won't feel happy for me LOL. So God, please bless these 2 "NICE" friends of mine to do well!
I know maybe many of u can't make it since it's on a Wed. We can spend another day for the celebration k! :D
I just bought my convocation ball outfit online. Lol. I know it's rather early and I am so KIASU! Sorry la! U know I always prepare alot for these kind of once-in-a-lifetime days! The theme for this ball is 'Colours'. I suppose a white or black dress is off the list. So I decided on a green dress with gold pleated rim. The kind of Grecian look. It's not so formal i dunno lehs! Show u in my next entry. Creating suspense! Lol!
Now it's time for Hainan Day 2!

We had to get ready by 7 30am the next day. We were told that the locals always sleep and wake up very early. They sleep at 9pm everyday omg. True enough, Hainan uncle reached our hotel at 7am. Wow! I was half awake and unwilling to move.
We went for breakfast at the nearby coffeeshop. As Hainan countryside is seldom visited by tourists, the locals stared at us as if we were aliens. The coffee and tea are always very sweet. Even I can't take the sweetness.

And the buns that were of different shapes are so yummy.
Cousin and Bro ordered the noodles and they said these noodles are a must try! :)
I didn't try them though cos Aunt kept stuffing me with lots of food. I am always so full throughout the day. There is always something to eat. We were sort of being forced to eat everything Aunt offered us.
Then we went to take a stroll at the nearby shops.

The birthday cakes on display look so vintage!
I guess 'Happy Birthday' is a universal language. The springy-like cream looks .. erms.. unique?

Cows and Chickens birthday cakes. Lol. Birthday cake chosen according to your Zodiac!
Then we went to 6th grandpa's house. We have to address him as 6th gong in Chinese. Dunno if 'gong' is regarded as grandpa. Anyway, he stays in a 3rd storey building. WOW! He has already retired and the government grants him SGD500 every month. It's considered alot in Hainan Island.
And this is his living room cum kitchen.

And this is his fan. The blades of this fan are made of plastic, and they aren't as strong as our blades lol. So we are getting so hot and dehydrated.
From Hainan
Then we continued to walk the streets since Aunt wanted to buy fruits from the market.
I saw this barber shop and it doesn't seem to have doors. :D
Uncle was saying that if someone who loves photography comes here, they will go crazy snapping photos away of such scenery.
From Hainan
The rice shop.
From Hainan
The clothes shop. Maybe I can find some vintage clothing here.
From Hainan
And at the market. We saw fruits we have never seen before. These yellow and green fruits are called 香瓜.
From Hainan
This lady here makes dumpling really efficiently. A real life demo!
Granny seemed very interested and amazed.
From Hainan
Fruit sellers in the market. The stalls can go from a very small scale with just a few fruits and vegetables on a small mat to a large scale like this stall here. Some sellers who sell only a few fruits sit in the open. I think these few fruits originate from their small farms. The sun are burning them! They have to carry umbrellas while selling. Life seems hard.
From Hainan
They sell cigarettes with their fruits. Think 99% of the males there smoke since young. On the other hand, we did not see any females smokers there.
They seemed to treat cigarettes as sacred. LOL. It rhymes k! The nice and clean display of cigarettes tells us so! It shows the effort behind organising these cigarettes.
We then went back to our countryside hotel to get our luggage cos we are going to the city later on that day and staying in the city's hotel! Yeahs!
From Hainan
A picture of the hotel!
From Hainan
A poster of the hotel.
From Hainan
While waiting for the rest to move their luggages, I wanted to take a candid shot but Cousin spotted my camera.

We felt so thirsty and went to buy the hotel's drinks. One costs SGD 0.20. So omg cheap!

I only have a big note ($100) and the cashier asked for a smaller change.
And uncle to the rescue! Cousin said I just wanted to show off my big note. How nice of her! Hahahahaha!

Back on the van!
Cousin forgot to bring her own fan and got one from Granny.

Hahahaha! I looked cross-eyed again. Camera ran out of battery and I kept using iphone front camera. It's me and the scenery behind. Beautiful only-found-in-Sentosa coconut tree!

Love Hainan's sky. The big clouds make the sky look endless and borderless.
Hainan uncle drove us to the countryside beach. :D

We began buying some souvenirs.
First the hats to protect us from the scorching hot sun.
From Hainan
I changed my camera mode to 'Pop Art' and got this. It totally enhanced this photo of one shop at the beach. Artistic right!
From Hainan
Hainan cousin chose this hat for me.
And both cousins got the same hat as me.
From Hainan
From Hainan
Next to the hat shop is the bracelets shop. These bracelets are handmade from sea shells.
The bracelet I bought costs only SGD1!
From Hainan
From Hainan
Then I looked towards the beach. The boats are used to ferry visitors around in the sea. We didn't booard these boats since the sun is scorching and there is a high possibility of getting wet. We have to also wear the life jackets if we want to go onboard. So ya.. It's better not to! Life jackets smell 'great'!
And a boy appeared in front of me out of nowhere. I smiled widely cos he is so cute!
It turned out that he is the son of the bracelet shop owner.
Dad bought this black bracelet cos he was told that it was to bring fortune to him. Lol. Hence becos of this in advance luck, his bracelet costs SGD6! Kind of ex right!
We passed by many nice scenery.
The tall tower with clouds as the background. The clouds seem so pure white while the sky is so sky blue.
The guan yin statue!

Its the long bridge that we crossed. It's sad that we got stopped by the security at the entrance and had to make a U-turn back :(
The last time Cousin and Aunt went, they were allowed in.
Went for lunch instead :)
From Hainan
We have been having good food that few days and they were totally free! All the adults were fighting to pay! Lols. We, the younger generation, will not want to fight with them lol.

After which, we checked in our new hotel for a rest. And get ready for the wen quan spa.
From Hainan
All of us agreed that this hotel has better facilities than the previous one! Indeed was the hotel in the city. :D
From Hainan
Shared the room with granny and saw some items on the shelf that I have never seen in any hotel room I have been to.
And cup noodles that look really tasty.
I didn't try one though. Cos I have no space in my stomach for any more food! Lol, decided from then on not to go out with Aunt so much or she will spoil my diet plans (Yes, I am finally going on a diet, which explains my willingness for outdoor activities!).
And after about an hour rest, we decided to go for k box nearby our hotel.
Cousin and I while waiting for the rest.
We took a stroll from our hotel in the hope of finding a suitable k box!
We passed by this minivan which is meant for wedding photography. So cute!
We passed by this minivan which is meant for wedding photography. So cute!
The 2 girls calling out for us to buy their green tea. They are so camera shy.
The internet bar.
Guangyi is my younger bro's name!
The supermarket is named after him. :D
We caught sight of this k box! The prices are so low! But it was a saturday and the rooms were fully booked. However, since we were already there, i took photos of the place.
They called their rooms mini, small bun, big bun.. LOL.
Cute owls! Wanted to buy one back but my room has no room for more of such ornaments.
Wind Chimes.
Wanted to get the seashell necklaces but Ah Mai insisted on paying for me, so I quickly hang them all back. I sneakily wanted to pay for myself but she kept appearing by my side, aiya!
In the end, I bought a big packet of coffee (with many coffe bags in it) and a packet of coconut sweets.

Inside the shop was a collection of different types of tea. They even have a table for tea lovers. Tea lovers can enjoy their tea on the table and share their brewing methods to fellow tea appreciators.
And finally Hainan uncle drove us to wen quan!
I have heard about the spa they last went to has green tea and other flavors! And they also have wen quan swimming pool :D
The swimming costume costs about SGD10! Omg. Wanted to get one but Aunt said the quality isn't very good. Aunt lent me hers.

Me and uncle's wife.

There is also fish spa. Lol. The fishes there are so big, unlike those in Sg. I didn't dare to stretch my legs into the pool. Aunt tried and each bite from the big fish startled her. Thus in the end, we spent our time swimming in the wen quan swimming pool. I felt like fainting the whole time in the pool due to its high temp. Have to get out of it every now and then.
We had dinner at this restaurant. It's a cool and grand place!
The duck rice is famous. The rice tasted like Hainan chicken rice's rice.
The table we were sitting at has each dining set wrapped in plastic. This shows how hygenic they are! The waitresses skillfully pierced through the plastic and arranged the cutlery in order. I recorded a video of how they did it. Hahaha. So bo liao i know.
The waitresses wear Haiwaiian shirts. Lol!
The tea cup which looks like a small bowl.
Cousin serving me drinks although i'm younger. I'm always so not polite to her. Lol.
The yummy stewed meat
Hainan chicken.
I realised that almost everyone whom i told about my upcoming Hainan trip will react in a similar fashion. Their response is to ask whether I'm going there for Hainanese chicken rice. I will answer, "Yes sure! Sg doesn't have it so I have to go all the way to Hainan Island for it." Hahahahaha, sounds sarcastic.
And found a less packed k box to go to.
The whole outlook of the k box reminded me of Taiwan!
the queen chair!
Coke is served as the free drink included in the package we chose.
The songs we chose was a mixture of Chinese and English oldies, and Chinese pop songs to cater to the audiences of different age groups.
I let Hainan cousin play with my phone and she really likes it. ;)
I recommended her the 'Angry Birds Rio Series' game. She closed her eyes whenever the angry bird was about to land and hit the cages. She quitted after a few trys, saying that it was too horrifying for her to look at the angry birds die. Lol! So Angry Birds is a game of horror!
Ad after she tried all the games on my phone, it was picture time! She began to take tons of photos of herself. I can't show them all here or she will feel very shy!
Me and her. Some people thought I'm 17 but look at me beside a 12 year old! Don't I look much much older?!!

She was at first very shy to take any photo with me. But on the 2nd day, she warmed up and volunteered to take photos with me. Perhaps tutee Joanna has trained me to learn to communicate with kids. :D
I showed her the smilecat postcard app and she decorated this!
Our night ends at 11pm and with this picture!
It was really a very very tiring day i remb!
