Back from Hainan

Sorry for the lack of updates!
I was giving tuition for the longest hours at night. My tutee's mum needed a translator to write her essays. LOL. In the morning, i was busy editing her essays and perfecting them.

I am back from Hainan Island. This was the first time I saw my relatives staying in Hainan. This trip was really different from the previous trips i went. And one very significant difference is this trip has gotten me deep into thoughts.

After seeing the state of their living conditions, i realized that I'm blessed. I have taken so much convenience for granted. The convenience of accessibility of transport, education, clean water, employment and practically everything. This really makes me very guilty.

I went to my cousin's room and I saw unbelievable amount of cracks on the walls which have turned greyish black from white. All she has in her room was a simple computer, a wardrobe made of cloth, and a bed.

I saw something in them that lacks in many city people. That is, their warmth and graciousness. Simplicity seems like the best way to live life. They look lively and look as if they have never met any problems.

Also, it was awkward. Your cousins have the same surname as u and the same middle names as your brothers, and u know them for the first time. But u will be surprised by how friendly they can be!

Now for some updates of what i did..

After exams, it's really a time to catch up!
Went out with the poly friends on the 28th May.
Si Ting told us to meet at Outram Park as Daniel recommended 'Zichar'. When i first saw the msg, i thought it was a high class Italian restaurant! I even told Jun Wen to wear abit more formal. And on the morning itself, i looked again at Ting's msg. Something inside of me felt weird. Then i think she was referring to the Hokkien translation of 'Zhu Cao'. :D
And i was right. We went to a nearby coffeeshop for it! Hahahahaha. Poor Simba wore a long sleeved shirt.

Then we went to Mind Cafe!
I sat in Chia Liang's car with Song Hua! :D
I sat at the back like a Tai Tai. Wahahahahahaha!

We played the Ugly Doll game 1st. Guys often lose out in such reaction games because once they have to snatch cards with girls, they tend to give in and let the girls have the card. :D
Introducing a new face on my blog: Daniel's girlfriend!

We played PICtationary after that.

I drew this and I have no confidence that anyone would get it right!
But Chia Liang got it! :D

Me and the girls. They look Korean. Joanne had a new haircut and at 1st i thought she hid her hair in her collar!
I showed Simba this photo and told him that. And he said, "U see, u are left out becos u didn't dye your hair!"
If there is a campaign for no black hair, Simba would be the leader!
(Simba will never stop dying his hair! U will never live to see his totally black hair!)

Ting showed us a nice App on iphone. It is called photofir. It has 4 continuous speedy shots! U have to react fast enough or else there won't be any differences in the 4 pictures. Go download it! It's fun!

My Hainan cousin went to look at all my photos on my phone. She saw this and said i look nice in the top right picture. I almost fainted. What's this supposed to mean??
