Nex and Blood Donors' Day
It's me again blogging. I try my best to keep my blog updated. Hope u enjoy reading every entry.
Oh I still have difficulty walking and for the past few precious weekends, the furthest we could go is Nex. Lol. Feeling abit down about it but trying my best to cheer up. :D Mind over body, mind over body, mind over knees!
Went MOF at Nex for dinner again! Just got my pay and had to treat Jun Wen. We had an agreement that we treat each other at somewhere nice after each pay. And for the rest of the time, we will dine at home or at somewhere cheap. :D
Did I tell u I applied for the MOF card? It's only $10!

The root beer float is the best! The ice cream is really alot alot!

The Spicy Tan Tan Noodles I had.

The camera's poster function defeated the purpose of me taking a picture with my Tan Tan Noodles! :(
Can't see anything in the bowl.

Can't see his also!

He went for a haircut at NK Salon in Nex again. Lol. And signed a hair package once more. The bill amounted to $140++ and I bought some cosmetics so that we reached $150 to redeem the Nex Tote bag. This is us waiting for our turn near the Redemption. There were about 60 people in front of us! It's crazy. Singaporeans are rich, aren't they?!!

I asked him to flash a more acceptable smile. Lol. His Polo Tee is from Thailand!

The Tote Bag that he loves much. I thought the prints are chromosomes until he told me that they are the Nex icons.

The bag can be sling too. But he kept asking if he looked sissy in it since he thinks tote bags are more for girls.
It's Blood Donor Day again! I get 20% off Singapore Flyer but I can't walk so far. It's a pity since they held a carnival there too. We chose another deal from the Blood Donor Discount card.

The deal was 10% off Gelatissmo, with a minimum purchase of $16. Lol. And because of that $1.60 that we are going to save, we ordered 2 flavours each. Omg. They were too much to take I tell u!
My camera ran out of batt and I finally tried some apps that I downloaded but didn't use before. (I'm too lazy to explore.)
This is from Leme Leme.
I ordered Mango and Tiramisu flavours. Still love Tiramisu the best. Mango is great too but got tired of the taste after like 5 spoonfuls of it.

Him with his big cone of Belgian Chocolate + Sorbet.
I always only try flavours that are safe and are guaranteed nice, but he, on the contrary, tries everything exotic. Lol. The sorbet flavour is maximally sour! Omg.

It just kept melting and melting quickly. It got us off guard the first time so we had sticky hands when we finished savouring them.
And to make things happier, we tried something new today. We tried organic raspberries for the first time!

From Instagram.

Me and the big bowl of raspberries. They are so sour!
Apologies for the messy background. My room is currently undergoing a makeover! My mum bought me a new wardrobe. Lol.

Hello Kitties, Nice Singaporeans, & Facial
Simba went collecting Hello Kitty plushies from MacDonalds. Lol.
The Hamburglar Hello Kitty was sold out when he tried to get it. He wanted to buy it from his boss at twice the price but she wouldn't budge. He compelled her to tell him which MacDonalds still sells it. Eventually, he got it from a colleague who went to Changi Airport to get it.
The Birdie Hello Kitty was not too popular I think. He managed to get it at lunch with his colleagues.
The Ronald Hello Kitty is very cute! He found out the day that it will be launched and wants me to accompany him to queue for it that day at midnight. I didn't agree and so the next day, he went for Mac breakfast and got it.
After he got the Ronald Hello Kitty, he gave the 3 of them to me. Lol.
He missed the Grimace Hello Kitty and found it to be a pity. But the day after he gave me the 3 kitties, his colleague gave him the Grimace Hello Kitty. Lol! Lucky him!
Now I have the complete set! Thanks to Simba's love for Hello Kitty!
My knee has not completely healed. It is taking forever I tell u! As very little blood flows through the knee area, its recovery will take a longer time. I went for the MRI Scan today. It was pretty interesting to go under the machine, quite an experience! Lol. During this period, I have people coming up to me to offer their help. I kept count and there are almost 10 Singaporeans who offer to help me. I dunno why I will feel embarrassed when they asked if I needed help. In my head I was thinking, "The next person who offer to help me will have me punch him/her in the face!" LOL. There was one who offered to pray for me and requested for 1 minute of my time. :D
Okie, I am quite touched but still I feel a little .. I dunno.. It's like when a petite lady asked, "Are u okie? Do u need help?" I feel like replying, "Do u think u can piggyback me?" Okie, I am sarcastic and unappreciative but it's true right! How can she help me???
Then when a nice man wants to help me walk down the stairs, I would get very scared and quickly asked him to walk ahead and not care about me. I'm insecure and paranoid.
Please don't help me if u don't know me! I really don't need your help! I am sarcastic, unappreciative, insecure and paranoid!
Do u like facial? I realize I get excited on the day of facial everytime. Yes, the process of facial can be painful sometimes, but I like the massages, the masks, the relaxing music and the aroma!
My beautician is so nice. She drove me home today after she saw me limping. Lol.
My mum said I owe alot of people these days. Strangers, acquaintances (like my beautician), colleagues, friends, family and Simba.

Bangkok Last
Hi dears!
If you travel often, maybe you should keep a blog. I like entries where friends go to various places and keep me interested about the places they went to. Maybe you can become a famous blogger, who knows right!
Here is the last entry on Bangkok!
On our final day there, we walked around Pratunum area to try to find a blazer for Jun Wen's dad. It was also when I realized I took very few photos relative to those other vacation trips I went to, so I went snapping photos away, lagging behind him while he, filled with anxiety, shopped for the blazer.

Him entering one of the shops at the Pratunum wholesale market. The Thais are very hardworking people. They opened their shops at around 9 in the morning while us Singaporeans opened our retail shops mostly at 11am.

Shops selling those bags suitable for packing in the many clothings you bought at the wholesale market. Most suited for blogshop owners.

Soon after, we were in Shibuya 19 Mall. It is a more classy mall that sells clothings at a relatively high price with better quality, but still considered cheap as compared to those in Singapore.
Simba found the blazer at the mall. He bought it at only 550 Baht, which is about SGD20! Omg. (Scroll down for a pic of the blazer! I really think it is worth the money, since it looks like it costs $50!)

It's always odd how we save on food and spend our savings on shopping!
I think we only went to one fine dining restaurant situated at the top floor of the Discovery Centre and spent only about $20 altogether. The rest of the time, we ate at food courts. In our defense, in malls like the Platinum Mall, we could only find food courts!
One very significant difference between their food courts and our food courts is that they took quite sometime to prepare the food. Lol. If our food courts operate at their speed, they would probably close down in like a month.
On the contrary, their fine dining restaurants serve food faster than ours. Lol! Love the service there better too! :D

Our breakfast at the food court.

Meatball noodles.

We both had coffee since it was our last day there and the tiredness from all those shopping has accumulated! Jun Wen had been hinting me to go for massages throughout the trip, but I couldn't since my knees still hurt and I was so afraid that the masseuse might break my knees further. Lol. He was disappointed that we didn't get to be massaged eventually since one of the must-do things in Thailand is to get a traditional Thai massage!
The coffee tasted too thick! You might just get sore throat by drinking one full cup of the coffee there.

Cinamonorolls were spotted in the food court. Though they look really lazy and disorganized altogether, I needed to take a pictures with these life sized characters!

Beside the cinamonorolls were all these magazines decorated deers! We still had sometime before the coach came to pick us up from our hotel, so we went posing with them. He likes to hide behind leaves.

Each storey of the Shibuya 19 Mall is named after a place in Japan.

And it was time for us to head back to the hotel and wait for our coach.
Had to take more photos so captured some fashion clothings from a few stores on our way back.

Street food. One typical street cart.

Our hotel rears baby sharks. Very unique to find sharks in aquariums!

The Photohunt machine in our hotel. Lol. That's him pretending to play.

Cute poster on top of the pool table. :D

Asked one of the hotel staff for a photo too. He has fantastic customer service skills, I must say!
Is he an Indian or an Ang Moh? Can't really tell isn't it! He spoke like a Thai anyway.

And again, it was his saddest day on the last day of every trip we went to. Lol!

In the small van (our so-called "coach"). We shared the van with 3 other Singaporean ladies who were comparing the exaggerating number of things they bought. Each of them brought SGD$1,500 there solely to shop! Omg!

He wore the blazer he bought for his dad, since our bags were fully packed! Too much shopping kills space. Lol.
Love the blazer!

And again, he did not complete his souvenir buying for his friends so we continued hunting for them at the airport.

I was really hungry since we didn't have lunch but are going to have it in the plane. Couldn't resist the temptation in the end and went to buy mango rice at one of the souvenir shops. Love it. We didn't have enough money and had to use credit cards. Thanks Citibank for being a worldwide bank!

Love my dress from Bonanza Mall, costing 400 baht! A little expensive for something from Thailand but think it was still worth it. Never find something like it in Singapore.

In our comfy flight back home!

Still loving the TV screen and ear pieces of Thai Airways. LOL!

BAngkok 5
Finally I am having a little less pain in resting my legs, so I am using this time to blog. I have taken medical leave on Friday and stayed home till today (Monday). Was pretty bedridden all this while. Lol. The thighs ache and hurt whenever I move. Jun Wen was in my house all this while and having a great time eating and eating.. Lol. He drank about 4 to 5 packets of drinks a day, and helped himself with the oranges on my kitchen table. He also scurried to our MioTV while I was sleeping. When I woke up and to my horror, I caught him eating my ice-cream! :D He is so gonna to eat my whole house away.
28th April 2012
We went for cakes, as Simba had been insisting that I need to have a cake on my birthday. We were too full to have one on my actual birthday, so we had a belated cake the following day.
We stopped by a cafe in MBK as it looked like the right place to let our hair down. :D

The Coffee World Cafe

Again, around us were all Ang Mohs.
His vintage tee was from the Platinum Mall too. It costs just $6!

My one slice of birthday cake. New York Cheesecake. It has a very smooth texture. I like!
I know this is a fantastic picture! Lol. The lighting happened to be at the right place and Simba was blurred out, centering the attention on the cake.

Angry at me again. Lol. I forgot why. Could be that I commented on his fatter face. Lol. Oops!
Saw the iTouch? He brought it to Bangkok without the single tinge of fear that he might lose it. iPad is too heavy, so iTouch was his good companion (not me,sadly) whenever he gets to rest.

The nice caramel whipped cream on top of the latte. I don't really like caramel since it is too sweet. But decided to give myself a big fattening treat this time. Lol. Simba wasn't stopping me too (He is very health conscious) since I am Queen on my birthday, according to his logic.

Then we went along the linkway bridge, heading to the Siam Discovery Centre.

The screams underneath the bridge made us want to find what the commotion was about.
A Korean band was performing outside MBK. Although I didn't know who they were, I stayed for a while to catch a glimpse of how they look like as I was convinced by all the loud screams that these Korean stars must be super famous!

The Bangkok traffic. The bus was going very close to the tuk-tuk.

And here we are, at Siam Discovery. I didn't know why it is a Discovery Centre since erm.. there is nothing scientific about it. I mean the Omnitheatre is in Siam Paragon, not here.

Cute busy Jap restaurant we passed by in the Discovery Centre. The food must be good. If u have lots of patience and a big craving for high quality food, u have to try this.

We wanted to head back to our hotel and rest for awhile before going to our next destination (My legs were too painful!) but we couldn't get any cab! To add to our misery, the rain came without any hesitation!

The basement of Siam Paragon. It was having a few exhibits on Underwater creatures. We took a few polaroids with the Mermaid and some other characters. Show u next time k!

He loves pretending to feed animals. Lol. Thought it was creative.
Thou if he fed it this way, he might be the one being fed.

One cart by the roadside selling "fresh" orange juice. The double quote was to specify that we got conned. Although the cart store owner claimed that the juice is fresh, it was made from orange syrup with water. Lol. Update me on the definition of fresh. Isn't fresh supposed to mean freshly squeezed from the orange fruit?

And yea, we were back to our hotel after a while of waiting for a cab.
This is a painting in our hotel hallway. Thought it was well illustrated. :P

Our hotel buggy. I only knew that we can ask the hotel staff to ferry us to the main road from our alley using this buggy the last day of our trip. Simba said he knew it initially but he just didn't tell me. (I doubt he was speaking the truth since he didn't suggest us taking the buggy all along!)
We wanted to go to the Suan Lum Night Bazaar after the long rest but it seemed like the cab drivers resisted driving us there. We were really puzzled, so we walked back to our hotel to surf updates on the bazaar, only to find out that it was shut down few months back. Oh no! I was there 7 years back and remembered we rode on the ferris wheel, shot down balloons to win a Hamtaro plushie for Song Hua!
We searched for more night markets but couldn't find one that we are suited for. I came up with the Night Market near the Siam area. I remembered seeing the busy area when our cab zoomed it by the night before.

So again, we passed through the Siam Discovery to get to the Siam Night Market.
The place was actually promoting the Wax Exhibition which is coming in next month I think.
This is Jim Carrey pointing to Simba!

And we went for a treat at the classy 9th Cafe on the top floor of Siam Discovery. Other restaurants were closed and we were dead hungry.
I really like the 9th Cafe. The service is great, the food awesome and the juices unbelievably nice!

The seats are those sofa kind.
We each hugged a cushion while we ate. Lol.

The classiest cafe we have been to in Bangkok serves good food at only SGD10! Omg. If u head to Ding Tai Feng in Singapore, u end up spending $20+ for a lunch!

Finally a photo of me! Lol. Do u like my blouse?! It is so cool! Bought it in Bonanza Mall for just $8 I think! The lacey gold skirt is from Khao San Night Market for about $8 too.

Love my juice. It is a mix of many freshly squeezed, yes FRESHLY SQUEEZED juices!
Forgot which juices, but remind me when u go there to dine next time k!

I remember his juice. Apple + Pineapple + Carrot. I can't imagine the taste but it turned out to be nicer than mine! I told him to throw the apple into the drink to enhance the taste but he didn't want to.

My nicest pasta ever!

And he ate the apple. He loves this photo so much that he wanted to make it his profile pic. I had a difficult time persuading him not to.

Recognise her? I'm with her on the stage. Lol. Don't be jealous! And yes, pink is the new in. I'm wearing pink socks, totally not trying to match my outfit. Lol.

This wax figure looked so real that it horrifies me.

The cat decos at the basement. Took some polaroids with it too.

C-U-T-E!
We didn't take any pictures of the Siam Night Market since night markets look the same everywhere. Lol. But I wanna say I love Siam Night Market the most! Was feeling pretty low that I didn't spend it all there! It was the last night there and I didn't have enough money! I already spent over my budget and so decided not to change for more Thai Bahts, despite the constant persuasion from Jun Wen. Lol.
Go to Siam Night Market the first night u are there and spend all your money there with no regrets okie! I was like wowed at everything in every store there.

We bought breezers from 7-11 back since they are so cheap! The Mixed Berry one is a Limited Edition. And of course, I'm allergic to berries so Simba had to drink it.

Behind him were the stack of clothes we bought for that day. Jun Wen has a habit of trying all the clothes he bought that day excitedly and then packing them nicely into his baggage.
That's all for the 3rd day in Bangkok.
Update u guys soon! Nights!
