Okay, here to share our solemnisation event (haha better to be late than never) and at the same time give you a few reviews. I have been gravely grateful to friends who had given some advice on wedding planning and now some house interior designing. :D
So it's now my turn to return the favour by advising friends who are getting married and to quote my uni friend "to share the love", by which she meant to share assignments' answers. Lol.
And yea, I have not posted all photos on Facebook, so friends who were present at my wedding, please download the rest of the photos from here. If you wish to own all high-resolution photos, please bring a thumbdrive to my place (perhaps during housewarming) next time and I would gladly transfer the pictures from my computer for you.
Okay, first up, venue of solemnisation: Rooftop Bar@Naumi Hotel.
Entering the bar-transformed wedding for the first time, I was no doubt impressed by its sense of grandeur; I've seen it in pictures but even pictures can't fully express what magnificent the backdrop and setting were. The infinity pool supplemented its completeness; it really was a damn cool place I must say.
As I have mentioned, the restaurant managers who have coordinated the event with seemed undependable; not to the extent of dubious, but they were unsure of everything. When they said they will check and get back to me, they didn't. After we signed the contract with them, the assistant manager told us that he was a greenhorn; he hasn't planned any wedding before in this hotel since they shifted there. š„
Instantly I regretted choosing them but left with no choice (as deposit is paid), we thought we would just manage as we go along.
Our package:
Rental of place of 3 hours + decor + champagne + wedding cake + 5 canapƩ varieties for 35 pax = $3,200+++
We upgraded from this to a one-night hotel stay and a 7 canapƩs varieties = $3,700+++.
Verdict: 4.5/5 - Received plenty of compliments on the breathtaking view, the service and the food.
Compliments by not just friends but wedding stylist and photographers who went to several weddings before. So ehh the managers weren't as blur as we expected them to be!
It's slightly more costly than one 15 marina club - the place near the boats ($2,800+++ without hotel stay) which have garnered a lot of attention after the first couple wedded there, but now it has become too mainstream.
More costly than Singapore Flyer too, but the cabin allows 20 people max and makes two rounds (total 2 hours) around the pivotal point and everyone quickly leave after that since there is no place for you to hang around when you are back on land. If you or your guests fear heights (like my mum and younger bro), then perhaps this is not a good idea.
But less costly than a yacht which allows also only a maximum capacity of 20 people and considering that yours truly gets seasick quite easily, it's gonna get pretty ugly if I puke while reciting the vows. Hahaha!
And also Fullerton's floating pod where you get to wed overseeing the view of marina bay's waters, has a maximum capacity of 60 people and that means an extravagant spending of $5,000+++.
The above prices are quoted by vendors around March 2014, so they may have escalated quite abit by now.
Korean wedding rabbits from Serangoon Nex Mall. It was the last pair for that batch when we bought it; we were incredibly lucky as the next batch won't come until after our wedding and we didn't see them in display cases anywhere else.
Simba's masterpiece as part of the tool for his proposal:
Photo frame and puppets from IKEA
Decorative papers from Paper Market
Verdict: 4.8/5
Nothing beats a adding personal touch to your wedding planning!
Pink and champagne roses bouquet from bridal studio Rico-A-Mona. This bouquet was taken from the bridal studio a day before but part of the petals have started to go black on the morning itself. Hmmm I suspect that the flowers weren't so "fresh" in the first place. Well but I guess this will happen in every bridal studio.
Verdict: 4/5 - giving some merit to the brightly coloured petals.
Swarovski crystals bouquet from BLACK accessories, $1,200 after discount of $300. Initially when the vendor tried to recommend this to us we were very interested but were "put off" by its price. Haha! It's only when we won the lucky draw first prize which entails a discount voucher of $300 in the wedding fair that we decided to purchase this.
Pros:
You can re-use it for downstream wedding photoshoots and banquet as it never withers.
You get to choose every detail of the bouquet, even the ribbon you want and the size of the bouquet.
Bouquet is delivered within a week. You can have a single chance to request for a touch-up for free.
Cons: Price is escalated. Some say it's rocket high.
The composition that made up Simba's brooch was crystals, some (elegant) wires and ribbons. And his brooch colour tone was deliberately similar to my bouquet.
Verdict: 3.5/5 - the designer was very friendly and customer-oriented, but you need a very professional photographer who can bring out the bouquet's beauty. My photographers didn't intend to do that, so there weren't a single photograph that can justify its shimmering glamorous look. But I had fun having colleagues tease me about being crazziieee enough to buy the $1,000 bouquet. Oh well...
Naumi Hotel's splendid taste has provided a great combi of these fresh flowers.:)

Golden white petals from IKEA. Simba and I diligently went shopping for some ideas there and these were one of the few things we picked.
Miao helped to spread them on the floor along the aisle... But oh no did the photographer, without our knowledge, put our rings on the floor just to take this photo? Can anyone verify?
Haha but it's okay since it's for art, and hence a good cause.
His dad and mum.
My grandma!
My mum who will always smile awkwardly at the camera and not be herself.
Dad who drew a large breath in to fit into bro's blazer. The tailor made pants were not of exact same colour as the blazer's. Lol.
Our rings and ring pillow from Soo Kee Jewellery.
Ya know me, I like anything with lacey details, so this ring pillow is perfect! (Although Simba associates everything lacey as too ah-ma-ish but well as usual my preference overrides his by default.)
It really took us ages to find the perfect wedding bands. We strolled down the chain of jewellery shops at Ion before a pair caught my eye.
However, the pair was the only one in Singapore with only a certain size; it was definitely waiting for its destined couple.
Oh well, Mr Simba's tiny ring finger ruined my hope of buying that pair. But after trying out several pairs, we decided on the yellow gold pair, as Simba's emaciated finger doesn't look good on any silver piece. The piece somehow looks like cheap metal on his finger. It was indeed disappointing as my first and second choice were silver ones.
And funny thing is, we didn't know that the usual spending on a pair of wedding bands would cost about $1,000. Ours was a whopping $3,000+. Lol. Its factory is situated in Japan and if a couple chooses it, it will be specially made there and then imported to designated country. Again his finger is smaller than the smallest available size but we were relieved that we don't have to pay more for manufacturing of a smaller sized ring.
Our reception table from Merry Love.
The wedding stylist used to sell handmade wedding accessories online part-time for 2 years, but she was so successful she had to go full-time, and all out to decorate weddings for them.
She and company are branded now. :)
Merry Love is a eminent brand among the wedding stylists' in Singapore.
Verdict: 3.5/5
Pros: She really finds good references and imports unique, vintage stuff from overseas. And other than being mesmerised by the beauty of the view from Naumi, I was impressed by how this table almost looks like an engineering marvel. The design turned out to be more delicate and detailed than what I expected.
Love the big gold frame where we paste our photos!
Cons: Pricey. Sad case of Jason guessing that it only costs a hundred when it's 18 times this.
She promised to lend us an easel but didn't deliver it on that day, and upon me asking, she just took over our canvas and said she would squeeze it at some parts of the table.
:(
Theme for this is Grecian. Does this look Grecian enough? Gold and green is what they thought match best with our theme.
Gold photo frames, golden ang bao box, and fake green leaves for us to pen down our wishes.
Wishes were supposed to be written on the handmade leaves and placed in the gold rim case but no one really did that until Merry Love's boss wrote on the first leaf.
Haha Miao meticulously laying out the petals:)

Didn't know that these petals from IKEA can look so pretty on the wooden floor. Maybe it's the skilled photography. Or the beautiful hand with the manicured nails.
Other industrious bridesmaids and best men.! Tuckwei wrote down his script on paper from the phone and was openly practicing it. Haha!
The rest were pumping up nitrogen in the balloons. Thanks people; I know it has been tedious and really appreciate it.:D
Naumi's flowers. They have better taste than us in selecting vendors for flowers.
Joe helping to tie the balloons on the railing. Photographer is really great at capturing naturalistic behaviors.:)
He would not ask my friends to purposefully pose something for him. Instead he would watch for opportunities for to capture moments as silently as he could.
Corsages. Collective decision of buying coloured ones to match their dress colours.

Small pre wedding shoot requested and planned by photographer.

One of my favorite pics.:)
This goes to show that unforgettable moments need not be only focused on the faces.
Candid is the photographer's forte. Sure u know it by now.

Hehe! Like this too;)
Photographer asked me to stick our faces as closely as possible. Perhaps to him physical closeness is the literal way of displaying emotional closeness.
Best men. My friends became his best men when they decided to dress in blue (same colour as what the waiters were waiting lol).
(His friends weren't dressed in the same colour.)
Whenever the photographer requested for us to take a step back, we took a look back instead. Haha! Really didn't want our wedding to turn into a nautical themed disaster.
Bro and him
Family portrait.
With favorite cousin and grandma.
His family.
Requested by the photographer.
Love our foot prints by the poolside.
His friends "registering" and penning down wishes for us.:)
The guy in blue looks unfamiliar? Yes, he starting hanging out with the clique at our wedding, after he played soccer with the guy in white (Kenneth, Simba's BFF). Kenneth invited him for us lol! And we can't say no!
