Miao's Housewarming :D

Got a new life size rabbit and love it lots! Lol.

Flood you with photos of me and the rabbit that stands about 120cm tall!

Photobucket

I'm not torturing it I swear. Sometimes photos are deceiving!

Rabbit sitting on my couch. Simba and my mum found it really spooky! I left it lying on my bed before I left for work, leaving it behind to scare my mum! She saw legs sticking out from the blanket and thinking it was me the sleepy head really late for work, she flipped the blanket over and shrieked! Lol! Although I sympathized with her I can't help laughing whenever I think about it.

Photobucket

PH brought us to "Grin Affair", a cheesecake cafe near our workplace famous for its innovative cheesecake in a jar! :D Bought two for the NTU PhD students and they love it! After I know her I became less of a country bumpkin and more exposed to alot of delicacies in Singapore!

After 5 years of hard labor, my laptop has finally failed me, leaving me with no choice but to hit the Comex Fair next weekend.

Have you been watching Sasuke Singapore? It is Ninja Warrior Singapore version, premiered 3 weeks ago. For the sake of people who still don't have a clue, Sasuke Singapore is the all-new gameshow that tests aspiring Ninja Warriors to their physical limits through a gruelling obstacle course.

I love how hilarious it can get! Most participants are fit NS men, but still not so fit to conquer all obstacles. Only few with adequate arm strength and speed could make it to the finishing point, making acrobats the most significant occupation of all. I'm encouraging Jun Wen to join since the opportunity is just right in front of him (He has been passionate about joining Ninja Warrior but couldn't since it caters to only the Japanese). However, the unfortunate thing is that he gets unnatural and uneasy when the camera points at him so he might not be sufficiently confident to complete the course. Lol.

Joanne Peh makes a good host too.

Photobucket

The pictorial of Sasuke Singapore is so cute! Look at the 2D Merlion and the Singapore Flyer!

Also today I came across MisterJL Productions, a wedding photography firm. I think they really aced in making videos, capturing every beautiful eventful moment of the gate crash.

Two lovely gate crashing videos they made:

This was claimed to be the best video made so far. The cheeky bridesmaids made the groom and his brothers wear translucent underwear (those disposable ones) on top of their pants in the car park and drink awful drinks. I like how the best men spontaneously try to force open the gate and how they kept up the atmosphere. Lol.
Cute sound effects and good choice of song playing in the background! They knew also when to mute the video and when to show the happy voices.

But I like this better! Creativity was really of standard. The bridesmaids made the groom and the best men drink from milk bottles, do awkward challenging yoga poses and dance like Wonder Girls. This time the best men were obedient enough to do whatever the bridesmaids please. Lol. When the groom read out the contents of the card made by the bridesmaids, I teared up bad. It went like, "I do not like to give romantic surprises. I do not like to sleep in. I do not to bake (something that I couldn't comprehend). I do not like to eat late-night supper. But I will do all this for you and love you like there is no tomorrow."
Omg right! Funny yet touching. Bride's wedding dress is a plus too! :D

Now let's backdate to July when Miao invited us to her new home.
We met in the evening to buy a housewarming gift for her at Franc Franc. Franc Franc is now in Vivo City Singapore to fulfil the wants of Singaporeans who prefer "Casual Stylish" home decorations. Francfranc proposes furniture and sundries that accentuate spaces through coordinating various items.

Didn't bring along my camera that day and used iPhone's Leme Leme as my camera.

Photobucket

The Franc Franc paper bag to contain the cute cups, delicate teapot set, bathroom slippers, bathroom mat that we bought for her. The logo is a heart shape made up of sofas, keys, cushions... Can you spot them all?

We took a shuttle bus into The Reflections @ Keppel Bay Miao's new home and were wowed by the welcome buffet. The buffet was so exquisite and the food served was so enticing that I have to take photos of them at every angle.

Mila Miao's Housewarming. The frame is so princessy.

Photobucket

The desserts. I love the éclair!

Photobucket

Cakes and garlic bread.

Photobucket

Love this photo of all empty wine glasses and their shadows.

Photobucket

The cute plastic wine glasses are detachable. We had fun figuring out how to piece the cone and the bottom together.

Photobucket

The premium soya milk that appears to resemble beer and marshmallows with nuts on them. Omg.

Photobucket

Ling and I were so fond of the scallops. :D

Photobucket

My first serving of food. Dieting will have to wait! Lol.

Photobucket

How we booked our seats. Lol.

Photobucket

Cocktail mixed by Miao and her friends. Had a hint of Vodka in it.

Photobucket

My last dessert before my stomach surrendered: Creme Brulee.

Photobucket

I was chatting with Ying when she ramdomly took out her phone in the attempt of a photo together. I am still very puzzled about why her phone's front camera resolution can be so much better than mine when our phones share the same model. Lol.

Photobucket

I was taking a photo of the mirror (I take photos of everything in sight) when Joe came into sight hinting for a photo together. Realized that I didn't have a photo of my sole reflection in it afterwards.

Photobucket

Mao and Ying joined in, taking advantage of Miao's "Mirror Mirror on the Wall" for a picture of us. My huge and tall figure blocked Mao. Lol.
Hearts my cardigan by the way!

Photobucket

The girls entertaining ourselves after the girls' talk.

Photobucket

Whilst browsing through the photos taken by Ying, she pleasingly pointed out the existence of her My Melody phone case and her phone accessory. Lol.

Photobucket

Miao and her boyfriend's performing Salsa dance for us. They met in Salsa. :D

Photobucket

In Miao's kitchen. It's cute that we posed with her fridge of all places.

Photobucket

Stole someone's cute dog as a special guest appearance in our photo!

Photobucket

Her bubbly friend helped us take a polaroid at her kitchen again. Our first polaroid together.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Found an old photo of us girls celebrating Ying's birthday in 2007!

The shy people who didn't mingle with her friends and made our own circle next to the lift. Lol.

Jun Wen and Suntanning.

Suntanning and swimming was what Simba did while waiting for me to finish doing my hair in the salon (It was rebonding so he had 3 hours of freedom. Lol.)

The funny thing is that he fell asleep on the suntanning bench despite the pricking rays of the sun, making him shed lots of outer skin a day later. Lol. Also on his arms, blisters started to form. He announced proudly that these blisters filled themselves with water whenever he bathed. Exerting pressure on water blisters would challenge the space in the peeling skin and thus with nowhere to go, the water coerced its way down through more parts of the skin. It was horrific hearing about his plight. He was practically peeling off skin wherever he went. Lol.

It was partially my mistake letting him wait for such a long time. I should have known that he would do something blur. Lolol! :D
Poor Simba.

Porridge and The Factory

Now Photobucket has made editing of photos a reality. I wanted to enhance some of my photos but still lazy to. :D Gonna wait ill I have time!

I can finally feel my upper thigh having better control of my lower thigh! Standing on one leg on an air cushion  in physiotherapy session helps! The air cushion serves as a uneven ground for me to grasp better control of my balance. Went scouting for the air cushion 2 days after my recent therapy, thought it was a pretty good investment. Yeah! My mood has accelerated after the rate of recovery became higher and of course when I decided not to wallow in self-pity any longer. I realised the more I pity myself, the more emotionally hurt and discouraged I got. Just when I finally thought I am improving a month back, the injury recurred. I twisted my right knee in a weird angle, making everything became upsetting and negative. I lost faith in physiotherapy and every possibility that I may recover in the future. :( However when the pain eased after a few days, I cheered up and forced myself to go on to the next stage of strengthening my upper thighs. And now finally, I walk with minimal pain and almost no limp. Hoping for a complete recovery in no time! Do you pity yourself sometimes too? I am always guilty of that. Lol. You are stronger than you think k! The mental is always more powerful than the physical or the emotions. Just remember that ya!

I have been mad about porridge ever since the porridge at Xin Wang hooked me to it.

Photobucket

The minced meat porridge in Xin Wang while waiting for our movie! Since then the taste still lingers in my mind. :D

Photobucket

I took leave last Friday, and had a long satisfying weekend although I went back to visit mice on National Day morning and the security guard commented that he pitied us, the researchers. The Friday leave was intended for me to stay at home, watch some videos and try starting on the "Results and Discussion" part of the Research Paper writing but Jun Wen dragged me out of the house with the sole reason that it is ridiculous to take leave just to do some more work. He was absolutely right about this. LOL. I can't believe myself sometimes. How on earth did I think of that lame plan for my leave day? In replacement of my initial plan, we chilled in the Cheesecake Cafe for 1.5 hour as I couldn't finish my Rum & Raisins Cheesecake. Jun Wen took the chance to take a nap on the sofa (LOL. Very embarrassing I know.) while I nibbled off the cheesecake. He refused to finish it for me since he was wary of me taking every chance to make him fatter.

Anyway, back to the porridge subject. The weekend after the Friday leave, Simba took me to Ah Seah Teochew Porridge, a eating house 2 stops away from where I live. Was supposed to be on a diet but Simba tricked me into having dinner. He wasn't very pleased that I would eat alot lesser than before just to lose some pounds. His reason was that I shouldn't resist myself so much that I feel less happy over it. Well.. Although he always gives good reasons that usually make me no longer able to defend myself, but I really would like to stick to my dieting plans. PLEASE JW PLEASE!

Photobucket

Well.. He did give in a little. He ordered 2 vegs, 1 egg and 1 meat.
The whole place was so crowded! It must have been famous for sometime!
But I still miss the Xin Wang's porridge.

Saw "The Factory" cafe near us and went there for ice-cream. The cafe owner was amicable. What I really love about her is that she has a style of her own. I always like artistic people and she is one of those! She would urge you to try out every ice-cream flavour.

Photobucket

I had a single scoop of Vanilla Nutty Bean.
Messy hair and crossed eye. Lol.
Now, I have to find excuses not to go out with JW until I lose weight.

Photobucket

He had Caramel Macademia ice-cream with Bailey Chocolate Ganache topping.
An array of magazines were displayed neatly on a stand, all free for browsing. Of course, I couldn't waste the chance to read as many as I could to save money on magazines. Very cheapo I know!

Photobucket

He took my Female magazine to read. Lol. He also developed an interest in browsing fashionable bags.

A competition has started between both of us. "The Biggest Loser" would be the winner. The person who can lose back to his/her original weight wins. :D
I hope I can be the Biggest Loser in 2 months! Wish me luck!

4th Year Anniversary Part I

We celebrated our 4th year together last Sunday. I postponed it by 2 months, so to be exact we have been together for 50 months! :D I'm still enjoying every bit of the relationship and am awaiting to share the rest of my life with him!

We went for breakfast at his favourite food centre in Old Airport Road. We ordered beancurd from Happy Boy Soya Bean.

Photobucket

The previous time we went to the food centre this man went around the place and asked for people to test his beancurd samples. He showed sincerity in getting us to like his beancurd, so I was pretty moved and we went to get some despite how much we wanted to get the Lao Ban beancurd. Lol. This Happy Boy beancurd actually tasted much like Lao Ban's so we really didn't mind.

Photobucket

His Polo Tee wasn't one of those in the night markets from Thailand. He got it from a boutique in Siam Square. I think it absolutely brings out his style!

Just like every other trip we went to, as long as he is planning the itinerary, he would urge me to speed up my actions. Hence, I couldn't eat in peace with him constantly reminding me on how punctual we must be for the next event.

Our next event was the Harry Potter Exhibition at the ArtScience Museum! I've been wanting to go there since ages but because of the bad knees, I couldn't. Finally the knees are working after I got tired of resting at home and putting on lots of weight. Lol.

Photobucket

Simba purchased the tickets in advance. Do we really have to buy them ahead of the day we are going? If so, I am greatly impressed by the overwhelming reception from Harry Potter. The exhibition premiered way back but if even now we still have to book our ticks, I think it is kind of exaggerated. But ya, it is Harry Potter, I shouldn't be that surprised since readers queued up to buy the book on the day of its launch.

Photobucket

At Shoppes at MBS.
I like my reflection and the reflection of the other man taking a photo of the LV building outside the mall.

Photobucket

It was very sunny and windy. I'm squinting my eyes in the face of the sun. Look at my shadow and my swaying dress. I think the additional 2 out of 6 kilograms that I have gained went to my face. LOL. I felt my face go thicker and rounder.

Photobucket

No photography was permitted in the exhibition. :(
Hence, at the entrance a museum staff was promoting a booklet that contains the contents of the exhibition. It costs $30! We forgo the initial thought of buying it since we aren't exactly Harry Potter fans.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Outside where we waited for entry were a row of Harry Potter movie posters, right from young cute Harry Potter to the now grown suave man!

The Exhibition was worth going for. I got teased by Simba for not knowing a single bit of the movie even though I watched 3 series! Lol. Instead, I learnt more from the exhibits. I'm so apologetic about it! Most of the time my mind was elsewhere when I watched them. Remembered falling asleep watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I heard that Harry Potter is a love or hate thing. Either u are a great fan of it or u don't get it. LOL.

Photobucket

The board where visitors can paste their small notes of wishes for Harry's Potter's birthday!

We bought the same t-shirt, with each costing $50. Omg. On it was a printed logo of all 4 houses in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, namely Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin and we love it. I didn't know those houses existed till the very day of the exhibition when the museum staff introduced me to it in her pretend British accent. Lol. Simba was pretty disappointed with me for not knowing anything!

This time I didn't take photos secretly of the exhibits as we were constantly reminded not to take any photos and that if we were caught, we would be asked to leave the museum premises immediately so I adhered to the rules for the first time.

Photobucket

We also have gotten ourselves a photo of us with the Hogwarts Express train as background. There were 6 backgrounds to choose from and all of them were so nice that we had a difficult time making a choice. Simba always let me choose everything and I always had to narrow the choices to 2 to 3 so that he can make a choice for me since I often couldn't make up my mind.

Then he took me to lunch at Jack's Place as his company offered him a $10 voucher for dining in Jack's Place.

Photobucket

That was my 2nd time to Jack's Place. I remembered liking the food the 1st time I was there, probably because it was a treat from my friend's uncle. Free food is always good food! He was grateful that I helped his nephew alot, by being his orientation mentor in Singapore. Lol.

I really really like the food this time too!

Photobucket

Him looking at the voucher making sure that we are entitled for the discount. Lol.
No photos was taken of me since I was sitting in the direction of the glaring sun. :(

Photobucket

I should head down to Jack's Place at Nex more frequently since the food is great. That is, after I have successfully benefited from my dieting.

What came as a big surprise afterward was the Saltimbanco by Cirque Du Soleil performance. I followed his lead until we reached the Stadium Station. And wow! Simba actually planned to watch a circus performance with me. Lol. For a person who sleeps in cinemas and musicals, this is the last thing I ever thought he would do!

Photobucket

He did sleep for awhile though. Couldn't think of anyone else who would spend money to take a nap. Lol.

Following are a few photos (ultimate zoom) I took of the performance before I was caught. LOL.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

This was only the first bit of the bending, stretching and swinging. It gets more and more captivating with the performers challenging limits. One performer would stand on the other who stands on the other.. U get the picture. :D

Photobucket

A showcase of the circus performers' costumes.

Photobucket

Thanks to the boyfriend, I got a chance to see people swinging around live for the first time. Lol.

Photobucket

My anniversary present: a purse from Samantha Vega, my most preferred brand! I love Samantha Vega stuff. They are so sweet and cute!

And I have got two more photos to show before I end this post!

Photobucket

DJ bought me an iPhone case. It seems like everyone likes buying me phone cases. Lol.
I felt so loved! Couldn't be more thankful! I mean I am already appreciative that she is so patient with me in helping me in my work. :D U see.. No matter how much I want to leave my job, there are people I can't bear to leave behind.
I would help DJ till she graduates from her PhD studies! Meanwhile, I will give my fullest at work. :D

(The background is my newly bought Topshop dress! U know I seldom buy from shops after I found online shopping but decided to pamper myself a little since I have just gotten my tuition fees! Actually I wanted to take advantage of the GSS and shop for discounted stuff but couldn't find anything I like. I could only find this, which is a new arrival and hence not part of the bargain in GSS. But it's fine it's fine I would tell myself.)

Last thing:
Went with Joe for blood donation yesterday. :D
I realised it's been a year since I last donated blood. Felt a sense of guilt when the realization first came to me. I have been sick or injured almost every other day since the beginning of this year, so couldn't donate! Nevertheless, was glad that I made my 7th donation. Yeah!

Photobucket

They gave me my personalized blood donor card and I was very very thrilled about it!
Have you donated blood yet? U should start if u haven't. Our bloodbank is always in need of blood.
:)
