Just ended quiz and presentation this week!
I realised that what sets me apart from a year 1, 2 or 3 student is that FYP has seemed to be such a major part of your life now. Quiz and presentation seemed much okie now!





Recent research has indicated that people with lack of sleep will think and act more positively than people with enough sleep. LOL! I guess this is a very good news for me :P But also they will make harsh decisions since they aren't able to think properly. Erms...!




I'm such an addict.
Today...
Bi Er asked me to help her look for nice jumpsuits online.
Bi Han asked me to go with her to the NTU Bazaar tomorrow since it sells many clothes of "my style".
Jun Wen asked me to teach him another "term". I already taught him how rompers, jumpers, maxis, pinafore dresses look like! Today i taught him what a sundress is. :P





Last Friday, Hooi Ling told me not to stay so quiet in the FYP meeting cos Prof will think that i slack when in fact i didn't! She said something like, "You never tell him, how would he know? He is not God!"


My project is actually almost finished but Prof wanted me to improve on the data acquisition system. Hence, Prof worried for my FYP mates more than me so he didn't really ask about my progress anymore. I was hurting my brain by trying to put labVIEW program with C++ program. It's killing me. In the end, after talking to my pHD student about making our phantoms, Hooi Ling persuaded me to go into Prof's office and tell him about my progress.



We hesitated outside his office for sometime cos i was thinking about what to say. And finally, she took my hand and kind of pulled me inside! "LET'S JUST GO INSIDE!" She said. Prof seemed quite pleased about it and it really made my weekend happier. :) Thanks Hooi Ling! Sometimes, i think i really need a friend like her who will push me to take more initiative. lols. :P



Oh, my uni friends and i decided on a Vietnam backpacking trip instead of Hong Kong.
I was so excited about it! I've never gone on a backpacking trip before. They said it will be more of enjoying the scenery than shopping. Simba wouldn't be bored too :) But i gotta go to the gym to train for my stamina. I'm serious k! Wish me luck!

I am glad that NTU is so big. Hahahaha. I can walk alot and try to maintain my weight lols!

Kevin showed us shows like The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother after our project meetings. I thought The Big Bang Theory is really nice! They twist and express Science in a cleverly funny way! Actually I wanna watch Prison Break, Gossip Girls, Vampire Diaries and etc series but don't have the time. So gonna be the biggest potato couch after exams!

I was supposed to buy the train concession for Simba but bought the bus concession instead. Don't ask me why I got it wrong. I dunno!! I just got it wrong! And the ticket office didn't allow me to change it to train concession. ;( hence now Simba has to take a bus from marymount to clementi and change trains to pioneer. Lols! Can anything be more wrong?

Been seeing many coursemates in the computer lab and talking to them. Haha. Everyone seemed rather worried about their fyp!
Lols! I realized the computer lab specially for fyp students is not very conducive to do my work anymore haha!



One beautiful Friday I was in the lab and after 5 minutes, Qing Yao came in, sat beside me, and started talking to me. He told me of cos first about his FYP and how he earned money in ntu by going for every survey he could! Lol. Our emails have always been flooded with requests to take part in Professors' research and in return for half an hour of our time spent, we get $5 to $10! He said he has already earned alot these 4 years in NTU! Hahas. I didn't take part in even one! Hais, wasted!

After we stopped conversing and i started to concentrate on my work, Hooi Ling came in 10 minutes later and talked to me! lols! She asked me to help solve an equation for her. After we managed to get something out of it, Kau Sang came and shouted, "TEA TIME!" He was famished.



We walked to our cafe and met Bi Han on the way. Spent an hour in the cafe and i ate a chocolate mousse omg! Sinful! And Kau Sang in the end only drank some tea. Lols.



Bi Han told me that she will stay in school for another half an hour before meeting her bf. Hooi Ling and Kau Sang went back to their hostels. I accompanied Bi Han for the half an hour and went back to lab. It was already 6pm! At 6 45pm, Simba called me and said he has finished his experiment and so off we went home. In the end, i did 5% of what i want to complete that day. Omg!




I think i've been giving myself too much stress! :(
These days i was trying out C++ programming. Sharon lent me her C++ textbook written by a lecturer in her polytechnic. It really helps :) Thanks dear!

Are u a victim of low self esteem? I can't deny i am a big victim of this.

I went googling "reasons why i should feel good about myself". Felt a little better for the first 15 minutes i saw. Remembered the assuring words from a website for 15 minutes & became moody back again.
Moody feelings, pls go away as quickly as possible!

She was shy and quiet all the time and i don't know whether she knows how to talk.
I asked Cousin and she said she didn't know (even after the whole day of taking care of her!) lols.
So i tried "Hello!"
Then heard a faint reply "Hello!"
"Good morning!"
"Good morning." SO CUTE!

Then she repeated whatever we said.
Her mum is Vietnamese by the way so she looks kind of more Vietnamese than Singaporean.

CNY River Hongbao

Need to start on my FYP report and revise for my upcoming quiz!

My last lap as a student ;) I went to the Career Fair but didn't know what to do as my career! Omg! U know, my hard disk crashed and it has given me lots of problems. My resume is in hard copy and so yesterday Simba helped me type into soft copy again. We couldn't scan it cos it was marked by my Professional Communication tutor.


Seems like they offer either research or corporate (HR, PR...) for my course. Engineering is stated as kind of hard for us since they want a pure degree of engineering! Oh no! Let's me just slack for awhile and think about it. Perhaps a part time job at KOI so that I can learn some bubble tea making skills. Lols! They offer $4.80 per hour. Pathetic but just wanna learn something! Maybe a salesgirl at pull & bear? Then I can learn to professionally sell clothes. Hopefully in years to come I can manufacture my own clothes and sell online!

Many of my bioengineering friends applied for the Hospital Executive at SGH or TTSH. Sounds great to be in management as soon as u graduate! Maybe I copy them lols! I like healthcare.

I kind of like the National Heritage Board! Work for few years before being an archaeologist! Then I will be finding dinosaurs' bones ;) U know i'm a very shy person (LOL) so i am too shy to approach the booth but Bi Han helped me ask haha. So nice!

Simba is interested in the Agri-Tech and Vegetation Agency. The advertisements were "If u love food and animals, u are welcome to join us!" He can be a researcher to study on animals and take care of plants.

Too bad there isn't an Online Shopping Executive post! Xiang once asked me to find 30 ntu students and set up a CCA "shopping" in NTU haha! Then I will have hostel to stay in since I am the chairman. All I do is find out the latest fashion trends, get some discount coupons and hold some talks on dressing up! Dont think I am up to it!

Dinner at Hans' in the Bugis National Library. I like the lemon tea, the melon and the garlic bread. But the spaghetti may require some improvement to be done.










Simba's army fren told him that he would be going to Chingay & he wanted to go too. We went down the road to watch the Chingay vehicles (Eh.. Do we call them vehicles or what?). The people who bought the tickets were guided to go a different route.
The first vehicle we caught sight was this! With the God of Fortune on it. I mean lots of Gods of Fortune. lols.

We saw this event going on nearby the bridge. It is the River Hongbao 2011! We were so lucky that once we reached, we were in a prefect position to watch the fireworks! ;) We didn't know there would be fireworks displays ;p They caught us by surprise! They were just right in front of us. Cool!

We bought the new flavoured ice creams ad my favourite candy floss though.





The CNY caps. We saw an angmoh wear it. It's weird to see angmohs wearing shirts with Chinese characters. While we want to be like them by dying our hair blonde, gold or red, they wanna be like us!





















The new water game! The kids look like hamsters. They roll in that big 'bubble'! Simba said it's unfair that we didn't get to play in such an innovation in our time.

Valentines 2011

I received some concerns from friends regarding my hard disk's crash. Don't worry people! I'm okay!謝謝 (thanks) Ling for the card! It was so sweet of ya! :)
I will 加油! So 感动!


I told my pHD student and she said it was okie. It would be better if i can reproduce my result.

Somehow, God seems to be saying to me, "Don't be contented with what u have. Strive to be better."

Cos if my hard disk didn't crash, i was already satisfied with my current results and didn't really want to make more improvements to them. After it did, i redid everything and got better results.

My FYP progress till now seems okie but Prof is still pressing me for more. Sometimes his words hurt. I took a day or two to recover from this hurt. Omg. I'm still a weak person. :(


U know, i am a 笨女人. Sometimes, i didn't think very deeply about the things i do. It seems to him that i dunno anything.

I dunno when i can be resistant to such remarks. I definitely hope that FYP will end quickly. I really don't mind getting not-so-good grades eventually or doing lab till late everyday. I just hope Prof will be more patient with me. I'm scared! FYP stole my happiness! I want it back soon! It's difficult to cope with Prof.. :~(


Then again... What doesn't kill me makes me stronger! :D



Hope u guys had a great CNY and Valentines' Day! I had a great one :)
After giving tuition, Simba and i had lunch at Swensens. The day was supposed to be postponed to another day since Simba had to go back to his lab to observe the stem cells. Hence we thought of just having lunch at Swensens and i go home to wait for him.





I always like to capture candid shots. Yeah, so some photos are blur :) especially when he always moves.





















We wanna order a lunch set but decided not to in the end since we wanna have desserts somewhere else. But the lunch comes with desserts! We thought it would only be 2 complimentary single scoop ice creams and i wanna have the raisin rum flavor. It tastes like wine! I like! But the waiter told us to choose Sundaes instead! Wow, we got 2 complimentary sundaes on Valentines' Day!







I chose Mint flavoured sundae. I know it tastes like toothpaste everytime but i just like it somehow.





This 'vase' of ice water is always given with our 2 cups so that we don't have to keep calling the waiters to pour ice water for us. And Simba accidentally drank from it. LOLS! I exaggerated and said, "Omg! U know maybe they never wash this 'vase' since they expected everyone to drink from the cups!!"




My all-time favourite at Swensens!
Simba said he has bought something for me. But he always liked to keep it in his bag and gave it to me at the end of the day. I tried to open his bag by force and found a big box inside! I was so excited to know what was inside. Maybe he has forgotten that he already gave me an advanced Valentines' Day gift.





After lunch, he had to go to his lab and he gave me the present! :)
I rushed home, wanting to open it quickly!

We went to the Bum Boat Booth outside Liang Court. Took a half an hour round trip ($15 each).
The boatman was so friendly!
Many kids on board and they shouted like crows lols.







I didn't know Singapore's night scenery is so magnificent and beautiful until i sat on the boat. It is definitely worth the money :)
