There were many many of such weird examples! I became arrogant for the wrong reasons! :D
Told him to not spoil me and here is his reply, "Okie I will stop praising u. But don't come crying to me when no one praise u anymore!" What is this supposed to mean??? No one will praise me except him??!!!
Today I watched the Hunger Games! It seems like everyone is talking about it and adverts on it are all over the place. I went to wiki it and found out that it has mostly positive reviews from critics. (It is often rare that movies are positively rated. Only those which have bored me to tears were often the ones who are really deemed as good by those critic experts.)
And of course, being a person who loves to find out what the craze is about, I went to watch it. The whole movie took two and a half hour of my life. It was mind-blowing, I tell you! U have to watch it OK! The show captured emotions very brillantly. Every part of the movie was cleverly done and was so captivating! Love it! I am going to give a my full 5 marks! 5/5!
And I have a new idol: the main lead of the movie, Jennifer Lawrence. She is so talented! Omg. Love her.
Before the movie and after dinner, we still have some time in between. And I went shopping. It was supposed to be window but I ended up with a Diva bag. The necklace is so nice I just can't resist it.
And here is my better shot of the necklace.

It isn't exactly a necklace and yes, it is lace again (My all-time favourite). Now those collar necklaces are so in and mine is an altered version of that. :D

This is my laptop wearing it.

I promise to wear it out all the time! :D
I haven't been going out alot lately since I have been bringing work home. Yup, it's sad. Lol.
So wanna take this time to blog about my Dinner & Dance. It's my 1st company D&D ever! The theme was 大世界. U have to dress like in the 60s. My colleagues were saying that they wouldn't be following the theme and so i didn't too. I just wore a cream dress with glitter on it. And I realised I looked really fat in it after I saw our photos. :(
The dinner was held at Raffles Place Convention Centre and was also where Simba had his Gala Dinner at. It started at 6 30pm, and there would be gifts for the early birds. I didn't want to come so early since I was afraid that the rest hasn't make their way there and I would be standing in a certain lonely part of the ballroom and waiting for time to pass. Lol. I'm not as social as u think!
But to my surprise, Chuan Sia has reached at 6 15. I told him I would be late since I was afraid that he might be late and I would feel awkward standing around with other NCCS people whom I don't know. And he texted "U know I won't be late for anything out of work." Lol.

Bhuvana arrived abit later than Chuan Sia but still earlier than me. :D
We went around the game stalls to take a look before we were asked to go into the restaurant.
Once I saw Chuan Sia, the thought of him lying to me came to my mind. He said he wouldn't be dressing up to the theme but he did!
When I confronted him later, he said this new shirt was given by his sis and he wasn't dressing to the theme. He thought that I was implying that his shirt looked so old-fashioned!
There were free photoshoots too. The photographers instantly print your photos for u. The style was like those you took from studios to add a professional look to your passport sized photo.

We were at Table 10! Not too far from the stage I like.

Chuan Sia trying to look tall and Kar Perng trying to look short. Again, I was telling Kar Perng that he dressed to the theme when he initially said he wouldn't. But he denied that his shirt was from the 60s!

I looked like a dwarf next to this guy!

And not so dwarf next to him. But really FAT.

And Patricia, our supervisor came when the dinner was about to begin. She was doing her hair all afternoon. We were utterly stunned when she appeared with the dress and the hairstyle. It was a totally different her!
Look at my smile... And then remember it..

Cos they were trying to imitate my smile. They said I smile too fakely. I thought I looked cool! LOL.

While we were at our table, the photographers passed us our instant photos. :D
So cool. The keychain which "says" our names was our doorgifts. Thought it was quite nice!

Our menu. Chuan Sia thought the food was just okie but I thought they were all great, especially the dessert. But since he seemed to be more of a food lover, I just agreed with him that the food was just average. Lol.

The colleagues. I tried persuading Pui Haan to join us but she won't cave.

The Research Fellows. Still don't understand why they are called as Fellows. Seems so weird.

Our director giving an address. He happens to be our PI (Principal Investigator) as well.

On every table were this box of balloon blowing stuff. Just like in the 60s. Memories memories! I used to play this with my brothers! See who can blow the biggest balloon.

Chuan Sia trying it out, blowing with all his might. I thought it was quite brave of him to play this at a dinner. But oh well..

Only at about 8pm, our first course meal was served.
The host of the dinner was pretty funny and talented! We were fascinated that he is very bilingual, and sings really well! We thought at first the singing was played by the CD!
Didn't manage to capture a photo of him since the stage was really far from our table. He said he was from the latest Singapore Idol or some similar contest in Singapore.

Tried to get a good shot of all the food that was served. :D
Kar Perng helped me to scoop the contents of the soup so that they would not be hidden from my camera.

My invitation card for the D&D. Quite creative and artistic isn't it?

Chuan Sia praised the taste of the vegs but I thought the prawns were nice too. :D

One of the surprises during the dinner was this version of Anita Mui. "She" ran from table to table singing Teresa Teng's songs. I must say "she" is pretty good. But scary. The photo of "her" was blur as like I have said, she physically ran while she sang.

Artistic photo that I took. On our table were this plastic stuff spread all over. I dunno what they are called. When I showed my mum this photo, she said she played with them when she was young.

The champion of the best dressed award. Lol. She is so funny and knows exactly how to get audiences to vote for her.
People who went up onto the stage were really spontaneous people! I was shocked that NCCS staff were not shy at all.

Five Stones were given out as well. So cool! My colleagues (Malaysians), who played with real stones that they picked by the roadside when they were young, were surprised that our 5 stones aren't actual stones! Our 5 stones were made from beans wrapped up in vintage-like cloth. Lol.

After the dinner, many went up the stage to take a photo! We were one of them. The people in the queue laughed at us as we coincidentally arranged ourselves in terms of height.
:D
