I realised that Jun Wen has always been "spoiling" me so much that I became more and more arrogant with each day to come. Take for example, that day he went with me to play badminton with my colleagues. It was clear that I was the weakest player among them but he went "WOW" every time I managed to hit the shuttlecock and made it go over the net. Lol. Another example will be that I plugged in my earpiece to my phone to talk to him, instead of holding the phone. He said I was so smart to think of such an idea. LOL. There were many many of such weird examples! I became arrogant for the wrong reasons! :D Told him to not spoil me and here is his reply, "Okie I will stop praising u. But don't come crying to me when no one praise u anymore!" What is this supposed to mean??? No one will praise me except him??!!! Today I watched the Hunger Games! It seems like everyone is talking about it and adverts on it are all over the place. I went to wiki it and found out that it has mostly positive reviews from critics. (It is often rare that movies are positively rated. Only those which have bored me to tears were often the ones who are really deemed as good by those critic experts.) And of course, being a person who loves to find out what the craze is about, I went to watch it. The whole movie took two and a half hour of my life. It was mind-blowing, I tell you! U have to watch it OK! The show captured emotions very brillantly. Every part of the movie was cleverly done and was so captivating! Love it! I am going to give a my full 5 marks! 5/5! And I have a new idol: the main lead of the movie, Jennifer Lawrence. She is so talented! Omg. Love her. Before the movie and after dinner, we still have some time in between. And I went shopping. It was supposed to be window but I ended up with a Diva bag. The necklace is so nice I just can't resist it. And here is my better shot of the necklace. It isn't exactly a necklace and yes, it is lace again (My all-time favourite). Now those collar necklaces are so in and mine is an altered version of that. :D This is my laptop wearing it. I promise to wear it out all the time! :D I haven't been going out alot lately since I have been bringing work home. Yup, it's sad. Lol. So wanna take this time to blog about my Dinner & Dance. It's my 1st company D&D ever! The theme was 大世界. U have to dress like in the 60s. My colleagues were saying that they wouldn't be following the theme and so i didn't too. I just wore a cream dress with glitter on it. And I realised I looked really fat in it after I saw our photos. :( The dinner was held at Raffles Place Convention Centre and was also where Simba had his Gala Dinner at. It started at 6 30pm, and there would be gifts for the early birds. I didn't want to come so early since I was afraid that the rest hasn't make their way there and I would be standing in a certain lonely part of the ballroom and waiting for time to pass. Lol. I'm not as social as u think! But to my surprise, Chuan Sia has reached at 6 15. I told him I would be late since I was afraid that he might be late and I would feel awkward standing around with other NCCS people whom I don't know. And he texted "U know I won't be late for anything out of work." Lol. Bhuvana arrived abit later than Chuan Sia but still earlier than me. :D We went around the game stalls to take a look before we were asked to go into the restaurant. Once I saw Chuan Sia, the thought of him lying to me came to my mind. He said he wouldn't be dressing up to the theme but he did! When I confronted him later, he said this new shirt was given by his sis and he wasn't dressing to the theme. He thought that I was implying that his shirt looked so old-fashioned! There were free photoshoots too. The photographers instantly print your photos for u. The style was like those you took from studios to add a professional look to your passport sized photo. We were at Table 10! Not too far from the stage I like. Chuan Sia trying to look tall and Kar Perng trying to look short. Again, I was telling Kar Perng that he dressed to the theme when he initially said he wouldn't. But he denied that his shirt was from the 60s! I looked like a dwarf next to this guy! And not so dwarf next to him. But really FAT. And Patricia, our supervisor came when the dinner was about to begin. She was doing her hair all afternoon. We were utterly stunned when she appeared with the dress and the hairstyle. It was a totally different her! Look at my smile... And then remember it.. Cos they were trying to imitate my smile. They said I smile too fakely. I thought I looked cool! LOL. While we were at our table, the photographers passed us our instant photos. :D So cool. The keychain which "says" our names was our doorgifts. Thought it was quite nice! Our menu. Chuan Sia thought the food was just okie but I thought they were all great, especially the dessert. But since he seemed to be more of a food lover, I just agreed with him that the food was just average. Lol. The colleagues. I tried persuading Pui Haan to join us but she won't cave. The Research Fellows. Still don't understand why they are called as Fellows. Seems so weird. Our director giving an address. He happens to be our PI (Principal Investigator) as well. On every table were this box of balloon blowing stuff. Just like in the 60s. Memories memories! I used to play this with my brothers! See who can blow the biggest balloon. Chuan Sia trying it out, blowing with all his might. I thought it was quite brave of him to play this at a dinner. But oh well.. Only at about 8pm, our first course meal was served. The host of the dinner was pretty funny and talented! We were fascinated that he is very bilingual, and sings really well! We thought at first the singing was played by the CD! Didn't manage to capture a photo of him since the stage was really far from our table. He said he was from the latest Singapore Idol or some similar contest in Singapore. Tried to get a good shot of all the food that was served. :D Kar Perng helped me to scoop the contents of the soup so that they would not be hidden from my camera. My invitation card for the D&D. Quite creative and artistic isn't it? Chuan Sia praised the taste of the vegs but I thought the prawns were nice too. :D One of the surprises during the dinner was this version of Anita Mui. "She" ran from table to table singing Teresa Teng's songs. I must say "she" is pretty good. But scary. The photo of "her" was blur as like I have said, she physically ran while she sang. Artistic photo that I took. On our table were this plastic stuff spread all over. I dunno what they are called. When I showed my mum this photo, she said she played with them when she was young. The champion of the best dressed award. Lol. She is so funny and knows exactly how to get audiences to vote for her. People who went up onto the stage were really spontaneous people! I was shocked that NCCS staff were not shy at all. Five Stones were given out as well. So cool! My colleagues (Malaysians), who played with real stones that they picked by the roadside when they were young, were surprised that our 5 stones aren't actual stones! Our 5 stones were made from beans wrapped up in vintage-like cloth. Lol. After the dinner, many went up the stage to take a photo! We were one of them. The people in the queue laughed at us as we coincidentally arranged ourselves in terms of height. :D
Just had badminton with colleagues. And now my right hand is yelling through my sensory nerves. It feels like it has been twisted x1,000 and then let go of. Lol. Note to self: I should be more fit. I am spending my birthday in Bangkok! I've been rambling that I wanna go Bangkok since it was featured in QiuQiu's blog. She bought so many pretty shoes and clothing from there. Carine went there few months back and she said the shopping was great! And Chuan Sia told me about a Groupon deal while Simba was in Taiwan! He asked me to help him book the deal and I really wanna book one for myself too! But Simba was in Taiwan and I can't make this decision myself. Then Chuan Sia while planning his iternary, tempted me again by showing me the places he will be going to! Until lately, Simba booked it! And I'm going on the 26th April and returning on the 29th of April. The last time I went there was 6 years back for my poly graduation! (Oh man, am I old!) I have decided not to waste my time on things I'm not passionate about. Shall resign by Oct to Dec this year. :D Wanna go from field to field until I find something I really like and wanna stay on for long. I may... I mean I may... apply to be a teacher.
Haven't had inspiration on what to blog about until today. I was pretty sick over the weekend. Lost my voice midway giving tuition. Joanna was like "Your eyes are so red!" Her mum thought it was so rude for her to comment on me. Lol. I used to think that I won't use even half of the 14 days MC but now I change my mind. It's easier to fall sick at work than in school. Lazy people are like that I think! Lol. I think I should just take one day leave every month and use that day to stay at home and do absolutely nothing. It's very hard to ban Simba from using my account in Draw Something. He will ask me with his extra big eyes and I have proven that I find it hard to ban him completely. When I told Pui Haan about it, she felt that I was so bad but she later changed her mind when she had to guess Simba's drawing using my account. He drew Popeye with a spinach but it turned out to look like a monster with a carrot. Lol. My colleagues said I have changed. I have become mean, according to them and have finally shown my true colours after 6 months of knowing them. Lol. Yes! I shall continue to be mean. :D Was looking through my past photos and look what I have found! This was taken by iPhone. Not bad for a camera with 5MegaPixels. Hurhur~ Another photo taken outside Esplanade (I think.) That was Jun Wen a year back. He changed somehow, don't u think so too? Print screened this cute hopeful expression of Theodore! Theodore rocks! This is from Alvin and the Chipmunks 3. Theodore made a very colorful bright necklace for Dave for him to wear it all the time, and since Dave was about to go for dinner, Theodore hopes he will wear it to dinner too. While Jun Wen was in Taiwan, I had a very lazy week. On one of the evenings I spent it with my friends. We went Chomp Chomp for dinner. Although some of them worked till rather late that evening, they still rushed over from wherever they are just for dinner. The guys stay in the East but they don't mind coming down to Serangoon, and then taking a cab back home. It was 8pm when the last of us came, and everyone was starving. Then we went to Dessert Bowl, a place highly recommended by many. Always wanted to go there but didn't think of that even if I was at Chomp Chomp. And Calvin brought us there that day. Will wanna bring Jun Wen there someday. We took a group photo and didn't want to leave Jun Wen out of the picture. There was a toy horse by our seats and Wan hugged "Jun Wen" for a photo. Went feeding "Jun Wen" with my dessert. The dessert was really nice! I had Mango Mountain or something. It had durian taste, I love it. If u don't like durians, u may have to reconsider heading there though. Cos the whole dessert place had quite a strong durian smell. But of course, u will grow accustomed to the smell after u have stepped into the place and stayed for awhile. I wanna maybe blog an entry about Jun Wen's trip to Taiwan! I thought his photos were quite interesting. :D He has a friend who is full of expressions like him. Now u must be trying to link up my blog title and the content I have written till now. People who care? Yes! People who care for me really make my day. Ling has offered me tips and recommended clinic on doing braces. She even wrote down some questions I need to ask the dentist during my consultation. It must have taken her quite sometime to pen all of these down! And some encouraging words in the end. THANKS Ling! :D That's me in the future! Lol. I think I will book my consultation at the end of March. Need to see the amount of bonus I can get. My appraisal is approaching and I am really tensed about it. Hope I won't do so badly. Dong Jing went back home to Mongolia last month and she got me this necklace from her city: :D It's really so special! Love it.
Really having the thought to blog but haven't gather enough energy and time to. Just a short entry to keep myself commited to my blog. :D Really tell myself all the time not to be a workaholic but still turn out to be one. As I need to analyze data after work lately, Simba had been helping me in drawing to my friends using the app "Draw Something". Yes, the word is "had". He used to help me in drawing! But I have banned him from it after I found out that he has been "compelling" my friends to give up their guesses since his drawings were too imaginative. For the word "bucket" he drew a sad boy with a bucket over his head. Lol. There are many examples of such that had happened, so I had no choice but to save some face for myself. Lol. Oh ya.. if u see drawings that aren't my style, they could not be mine. My colleague has been using my phone to play with u. Lately, there is this pigeon which stood on the bench of a playground near Simba's house. It doesn't move at all, let alone fly. Lol. Simba has been scrutinizing it for sometime before he told me about it. He was keeping a close watch on it by putting his face very near it and staring hard into its eyes. Lol. This few days, he touched its head but it was not the least afraid. Lol. He named it "The Amazing Bird" but I, being the least amazed, was convinced that it was just plain lazy. I told him not to get so near to it since pigeons spread diseases but he didn't believe me. Lol. Simba bought these for me from Taiwan. Made me miss Taiwan again! I saw someone's blog that she went to Bangkok and I feel like going too. Oh no! She bought high heels for only SGD4. Omg. :D He thought those face masks are only available in Taiwan, so he bought a few. But it has come to Singapore. Watsons and Guardian are the distributors. LOL. Here are 2 pictures that I remembered to print screen. I drew them for Simba to guess in Charadium. :D Nights friends! Time to prepare for sleep. :D
I'm so in love with this song lately. Never got tired of it! :D There is a recent craze on the app "Draw Something". Lol. How I get to know Draw Something. That day Chuan Sia asked me to download Charadium, a draw and guess game! I thought it was really fun! After work, I met up with Carine and told her about this app! Wanted her to play it with me. But her phone isn't iPhone so she recommended me "Draw Something" instead. Once I downloaded Draw Something, my other friends saw me on it and added me! Now constantly, I have to guess and draw. There's surely someone who will reply me. So far, Si Ting guessed my drawings best! :D Some friends couldn't guess my drawings and gave up! Oops! Lol. And I realised some friends don't really work during working hours! Lol. They reply really fast! Oh hor, now I know which friends are the opposite of hardworking! Simba got addicted to it too. He always chose the most difficult word but drew the most abstract drawing. Super angry with him. Lol. His colleague wrote "Your drawing sucks!" on the draw pad. However, Simba never admits that he doesn't have the art talent. :D He thought he drew great. Ermm...
Just a warning... This is a very rambly, talkative and random entry. :D Simba and I were watching some funny youtube videos. And Simba has gotten a random idea of posting his videos online. Lol. My boyfriend wants to be a youtube comedian. Lol! If so, will u subscribe to him? I think he has got this talent since he likes to post only funny photos of him as his profile pic on Facebook. And my cousin said he can act as a comedian since he has this funny look. Omg. I dunno if I should smile at the comment or cry. Thanks people for texting me to show concern. I am really better. :D We have kind of come to a conclusion that we want to keep the flat, after weighing out the pros and cons. This means in 2015, I will have to fork out $350 of cash and $600 of CPF per month. And by then I would have taken care of fees for my braces, so I guess it's not much of a problem. After deducting the monthly installments I have to pay Jun Wen's dad and the allowance I give my parents, it is impossible if I still want to save $1,000 each month. Lol. My uncle .. He gave up his children because of gambling. My dad, aunts and other uncles have to support his children. Dad requested that I also play my part in financially supporting my younger cousins. Hopefully my cousins grow up to be better people than my uncle. So again, this makes it more impossible for me to save a significant amount! But I know if i bless others, i will be blessed! :D Maybe Simba will become a famous Youtuber. LOL. Then next time people asked, "Your boyfriend's occupation?" "Oh he is a youtuber!" And people will be like -__-"". But hey Ray William Johnson, who has the most subscribed Youtube channel, wanted to study law just before he started Youtubing. Oops, I'm off topic again. Now back to the flat. And this means I will have to get married in 2014. (Since we will get our keys in Jan 2015!) So guys, will u be available somewhere around Dec 2014? It will be just a signing of some marriage agreement. Maybe the wedding dinner will be somewhere in 2016? :D Will the 5 of you (my sec sch and poly girlfriends) be a dear and be my bridesmaids? I dunno if any of u will be married by then, but if u are, I still hope that u will still be my bridesmaid. (Even if u are pregnant by then, I hope u will be my pregnant bridesmaid.). I think I will choose the bridemaids dresses for u, will u mind? It will be a little casual, not those formal ones with lots of frills on them. Won't be those very costly ones but I promise I promise it will be nice and of comfortable material! U can keep the dress after that and wear it out on parties. And maybe Jun Wen will give u some red packets. Lol. I was planning to get Jun Wen's friend, a freelance photographer, to help us (me and the bridesmaids) get a photoshoot. Remb that guy I added on Facebook so that I can see the photos he take? Yeah that's him. He got himself a girlfriend just recently and I believe his photography skills will improve too. Lol. I took photos of the showflat. (Wasn't supposed to take photos so please my friends don't share these photos to any other site okie?) This is our living room with the balcony. The flooring and the air-con are provided. Love the balcony! The dining corner next to the living room. And the passageway to the other rooms. The flooring of the bedrooms are made of better quality wood tiles. I forgot what type of wood it was but I remembered being very impressed by that wood. Lol. The stove, cabinets, clothes line (the clothes line is really cool. U just have to hang over the plastic bamboo and push the whole thing out. Lol. I dunno how to explain to u! U will have to come to my new house to take a look!), wardrobe.... are all provided! The bomb shelter is included too! It is like a storeroom but I wanna make it into my personal walk-in wardrobe (And Simba is so going to kill me.) I wanna show u more photos of the showflat but they are in Simba's camera. Show u next time k! My idea was not to move in even when the flat is ready in Jan 2015. Maybe we don't have enough money to buy furniture yet. Lol. Will tell u when it is ready okie! U are all invited to stay in our guest room whenever u need somewhere to sleep over, like u need someone to talk to when u are bored or anything. Lol! But this is provided that we have money to buy a bed for u. LOL. To be truthful, I am not sure if I am ready to be married. Lol. I mean I don't think I am mature enough to progress to another stage of my life. I am not ready to move out of my cozy room, not ready to leave my parents for a new home. But I know somehow even if I am not ready, I will be when the time comes. Circumstances will lead me to it. At least that's what I hope! And on a random note, I realized that my blog is best viewed on iPad. Lol. Go be a dear and get yourself an iPad to read my blog. LOL. I mean other blogs are also viewed better in iPad. So if u have 10 blogger friends, time to get yourself an iPad! This is a drawing of me by CS: Lol. Pretty hilarious and hideous! My right eye is much bigger than my left eye. And when I pointed at my head and said, "Hey! Why am I so not proportional? My head is so big and I am a stick woman at the bottom of my head." He giggled and said, "Yes, that's u!" I dunno why people like to tease me without feeling a single tinge of guilt. Recently I watched movies. The Lorax and This Means War are both nice. But I like the latter more because it is very hilarious! We laughed from the start till the end. Very cute development of characters! Highly recommended by me! And few weeks back, I watched Jack and Jill at Illuma. And Illuma is undergoing renovation now. The power supply was cut off and the tickets were handwritten. Quite a memory though! Jack and Jill was funny but I can't stand the sight of Adam Sandler acting as a woman. He is a really scary lady. Omg. I kept wanting to close my eyes once the lady man appeared but Simba told me not to be rude! Lol. After we have gotten our tickets, we went Astons for dinner. Astons is very famous among youngsters and best known for its low price but great food. And yea, Simba and I have begun saving up for our future, so we couldn't spend too much. Lol. Nice natural photo! As the seats in the restaurant are fairly close to each other, we could hear other diners talking about their stuff. Lol. The lady beside us is an Angmoh and she spoke Chinese and Hokkien. I thought it was very impressive and I texted Simba (though he was just in front of me), "How is it possible that Chinese words came out of her mouth?" Lol. He thought I was really weird. I found another guy in my direction who looks exactly like Tuck Wei and Simba kept turning back to look at him. I thought Simba was really odd too. As u know, Astons also served HUGE portions of food. We were practically throwing up at the end of our dinner. He took a photo of me with the handwritten movie ticks! And wow, as the place was undergoing renovation, the walls were all white! I didn't know that taking photos against a white wall creates a really nice effect! Lol. We had dinner at Amici Holland V again! Couldn't get enough of it. And it's One for One. Praying to the Chilli Flakes god. Lol. The flash was to his advantage. He looked so .. erm.. holy? My paperbag dress from Megagamie! I bought something from their every collection. Omg. It's crazy but they really sell only pretty things. Lol. Jun Wen's colleague, who happened to be Carine's friend, was looking at Megagamie's site and he told her I like it so much. See! Everyone likes Megagamie! Once the tiramisu dessert cake came, the first thing he took note of was the size of the strawberry. He said it was gigantic and wondered how the restaurant got it. Lol. He had to compare the size of the strawberry to the size of his head. Lol. Bought a blazer from Zara that day! Was secretly glad that when Jun Wen was in Taiwan, I saved some money. But now I spend it all on a blazer! So much for saying that I wanna save! Lol. But in my defense, this blazer has the best cutting! :D And my belated Valentines' gift for Jun Wen! It was a A&F cardigan. I went into A&F and got served by a very very charming salesman. Lol!
