Day 5 Attraction No 4 - Tokyo Tower






Ling brought me to see the Tokyo Tower after disneyland. She managed to use the very very last bit of her camera's battery to capture the picture of this tower.

The Tokyo Tower

Height of the Tower - 333m. Since its opening in 1958, the Tokyo Tower has been the world's tallest self-supporting steel tower. (Effiel Tower is only 320m tall.)
164 light bulbs make sure the tower is lit up at night.

Tokyo Tower's two main revenue sources are antenna leasing and tourism. It functions as a radio and television broadcasting antenna support structure and is a tourist destination that houses several different attractions.




















We walked to as close to the tower as we could. But still cannot reach its base. :P

The Tokyo tower weighs 4000 tons which is much lighter than the Eiffel tower which weighs 7000 tons. The tower is painted in white and orange to meet aviation safety regulations.

We asked for spoons to scoop our rice. Hahahas. The Japanese only use chopsticks. They ate Ramen fast and hard. Practically sucked the hot noodles loudly.













Day 6 - Namjatown (Realised that a few more photos aren't posted up yet.)












Namjatown is in a shopping mall called Sunshine City. We walked about 530m from the Ikebukuro station. (530m right, Ling?) Luckily there were signs directing us there.

The entrance fee costs 300 yen (~S$4.80) but playing the games will cost 3900 yen (~S$61.90). Big difference right?!
We seldom play games so decided to only enter and explore!

Namco Namja Town is an indoor theme park in the Sunshine City shopping complex in east Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. The park was opened in 1996 by Namco, a Japanese company best known for producing video games, although the park itself does not focus on those games. Instead, it features themed dining, carnival-style games, a haunted house, and a line of character mascots exclusive to the park.
