Simba has been asking me everyday if i blogged the night before. :D
I wanted also to watch an online movie every night but was too tired. I slept around midnight lately. Such improvement!
Kevin organized an kite flying outing for us on the 26th July. Everyone is given a task to do!
Sharon was in charge of the drinks, Bi Er the floor mat, Carine the sandwiches, Kevin the honey chicken and me the snacks.
It was my first time out on flying kites. :D
Simba's third but he doesn't have a kite.
So.. He took me to buy a kite in Sengkang in the morning. He said Sengkang has plenty of shops selling a variety of kites. I was disappointed by the quality and the designs of these kites. And was afraid that they may not be able to withstand any strong wind. Hence, we walked further and went to a small 7-11 store but it didn't sell any kite. Eventually we found a 7-11 store that has quite nice designs. I thought the penguin kite is very cute! (Look at the picture of the kite in the following picture.)

And because we walked too far away from Sengkang MRT, we took an LRT back. My 2nd time taking an LRT.

We bought volleyball too. My mum threw away my volleyball without my consent and I was quite upset. But Simba has one, so we can share his.
And we then went to the Cold Storage to buy snacks.
| From Kite Flying 26/05/2011 |
I couldn't find the shelves that held the popular tidbits, like Raffles and others (I seldom eat snacks, i dunno the rest!) Simba only found the shelves for Japanese snacks. And i chose what i think will be nice. I didn't want to get all chips since they will be too taxing on my friends' throats. Thus, i went on to get some gummies, marshmallows, chocolates (kit kat), seaweeds and pocky sticks.
We were so tired that we slept in the train on our way to meet the others. i literally fell into deep sleep and dropped my paper bag i was holding, giving a big thump on the ground. I was awoken by the sound and when i opened my eyes, i found many eyes on me. LOL.
We met up with the rest at Marina Bay Station and they took us there via a shuttle bus.

We found ourselves a shelter and laid out the mat. I proudly took out the collection of snacks i chose. LOL. Simba always leaves me with the choices!

I laid it on the ground and both Simba and I knew we got cheated. The penguin on the picture of the kite cover was black, not orange! It looked very weird, especially when it is placed flush on the grass. I thought it looked like a dead fish. LOL.
Simba started to try readying our kite too while i used some eye power. LOL.

Simba wasn't so sure how to do it. He used his friend's kite the last 2 times he went kite flying.

And i shouted help. And help came. Bi Er and Kevin went our side to help us.

Simba then tyed our newly bought rope to the kite. It went tangled and Kevin helped us in making it right. He looked very sincere and serious. I was still only taking photos and leaving the problems for the guys to handle! LOL. I didn't want to grow a few more strands of white hair!

She then placed the cups on the mat and poured drinks for us.

And she stood and drank. And stayed in the shelter for ... a time we called long.. A somewhat long time. LOL. I had to show this photo as an evidence.

Finally, after Kevin solved the problem, the kite was ready to fly! This photo was taken from Kevin's professional camera. Very smiley photo. I dunno whether u have this feeling that I have! Which is my feeling that the professional camera captures not only the scene and the people, but also most importantly the feelings of the "main leads" of the picture. From this photo, u seem to receive that kind of specially happy feeling from Simba and I.

Launching the kite.

The kite fell into the sea soon after. The string got detached from the pulley and ladybugs can't swim. RIP ladybug.

And he flew it. Kevin squat down to take this picture. Really awesome shot!

Me holding the kite after Simba successfully launched it high up in the sky. LOL. I always got the aftermath benefits of Simba's work.

We saw two big sotong kites trying to join the other lighter kites in the sky. I thought they looked very evil. I was abit scared when i looked into their eyes. Their owners were very diligent and they never seemed to give up!

Many planes flew by in different conformations. This led us into thinking that there was an air show going on that day.

I gave back the pulley for Simba to hold as i felt the tight tension from the kite. I was panicky again. LOL. So stupid but ya... LOL.

After Bi Han made her kite flew the furthest in the sky, she tied it to our tent and went back to the shelter. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I really liked how we brought a few cameras and took candid shots of one another. Very fun and full of involvement. :D

Simba retrieved the kite back..

We also saw a very sophisticated Eagle kite that can fly so high up. And a weird ladybug kite. Bi Han thought it was a cockroach initially.

After the picnic, we played volleyball so carefully as we were afraid it may land into the sea. Kevin joined in after sometime and told us to count as we passed the ball. First it was just plus 1. The first person counts 1, the second person counts 2 and so on. Then he thought it was too easy and leveled up the difficulty. He wanted us to count in multiples of 2 using odd numbers. The first person counts 1, the second person counts 3.. He said the person who got it wrong had to do some form of forfeit. And in the end, he was the only one who got it wrong. LOL!

Simba got Bi Han's kite up in the sky within a very short time. We were shocked.
Bi Han said, "Huh! I took so long to fly it and he flew it within seconds?!"
And Bi Er continued, "U dunno meh! He is working part time here helping people in flying their kites!"
They said he has got the talent. :D
I realised that he was always flying kites in these very nice photos!
So in the end.. Everyone except me flew the kites successfully. I didn't try! LOL. :D
And now for the jumping photos.
It all started with Bi Han trying to take a photo of me.
And randomly she shouted, "Hui Jin, jump!"
Me: "Huh?"
Bi Han: JUMP! Hui Jin! JUMP!"
And I jumped. And wondered why i was so obedient.

Simba is still laughing at this photo. The reason was that he said i jumped with style. (The only thing i'm very sure about simba that he always says the opposite of what he actually means!)
Funny as it is, my pHD student went to like this photo on Facebook. :D
She must be thinking that i changed! HAHAHAHA. Cos i tried to be more serious when i was helping her with some research.
This punches and blocks were inspired by Bi Han. The scenery is so nice! We seemed to have touched the Singapore Flyer. | ||

I got Bi Han to replace me. And these are the supergirls!

Preparing for another jump shot. We kept wanting Jun Wen to join in but he was rejecting and secretly laughing at it.

These are supposed to be lining up to jump. We ended up looking like zombies. :D

Everyone got involved. More people means more coordination problem. LOL.

Bi Han asked both of them to jump in any way they liked. And Kevin chose to jump like a sotong. It was so funny!

A group photo before we left! We looked like alot of people!

(I sat beside Bi Han. HOHOHO!)

And weirdly, we walked back to Suntec City from Tanjong Pagar, and dined at Bakerzin.
