Wanna dedicate this song 'Amazing Grace' to the Derek I once knew and will remember forever. Come back and suan me as much as possible. I won't complain I promise. =~(
'Amazing Grace', most touching song ever heard.
Didn't blog for a few days because of another job interview.
This time it was for the position of Management Executive at a tutition center. Like I have told many of u, it was a one hour interview, omg. The boss of the company asked me a million questions. In the end, he said my expected pay was too high. Omg. It wasn't even considered high I promise! :( And he asked me for a 2nd interview which I rejected. He expected me to work 7 days a week but with a salary lower than my expected salary. Omg! I think it will take me a lot more interviews to get a job I am suited for! :D
After so long, I finally uploaded all my photos onto photobucket and now ready to blog about my trips~
Tracing back to 20th Jul 2011.. Okie, I mean 19th Jul cos we spent a night at the airport to save on the cab fare. Lol. The midnight charge is too steep!

Dad asked Simba to come and fetch me from my house to help carry my luggage leaving Simba with no choice. LOL. Good job Dad! At sgoon mrt circle line.

Thought this was funny.

At Paya Lebar MRT

Spent the whole night staying up. Ate supper at the Killiney Kopitiam and drank coffee at Macs.
Found out that Carine has the highest battery power at night. A true blue owl!~
And it was finally time to chek in our luggages!
Out of 7 people, 4 of us can make it and it is still the majority! :D
I went to Vietnam with Jun Wen, Carine and Sharon~

Had to take a bus from T3 to Budget Terminal.
Many candid shots of my friends. :D

Ho Chi Minh in a few hours!

And breakfast at Macs before boarding the plane.

Kapo-ed from Sharon's camera. Half candid (Jun Wen) and half self-conscious (me).
He looked somewhat like me in this photo. Lol.

And while quening to board the plane, with our passports in our hands~

Travelled by Tiger Airways once more. The whole journey was smooth luckily. Didn't feel giddy or want to throw up.

At the Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Airport. It was a very small airport~ I would not say it was disappointing since we didn't have high expectations of it. Lol. It was a good experience seeing it. The 3 friends being very sincere and serious in planning how to get to our hotel when I was busy taking photos!

When he discovered that my camera was aiming at him.

On a cab back to our hotel. Saw many many motorbikes and that the road is bi-directional (without the dotted centre line on it). The locals were just travelling in any direction they want and their signalling to other bikes was to honk. So for all day and night, u will keep hearing the honks.

First stop: Ben Thanh Market
We decided to walk there and take photos on the way.
Saw this nicely decorated donut shop!

Simba, the Lion King.

Walking along the roadside. The air smells bad.
I like friends' backviews with the photos. Their backs made the photo an art. :D
The whole Vietnam is actually a mirror image of the city of Hainan Island. The building, the traffic, the layout..

Cute! Mickey Laundry~

One of the many oil painting shops.

One typical souvenir shop.

Simba in the Saigon City with the Saigon Traffic and the Saigon black long wires above.

Nice peacock design. Reminds me of the Kungfu Panda's peacock.

The park where many activities were held.

Love this photo! Cos I'm the tallest and u cannot see why!
The photo didn't capture that I'm standing on a higher ground.

This was Simba's 2nd time to Ho Chi Minh and he said the horse statue behind in the middle of the roundabout is a feature that we reached the Saigon City.

Reached Ben Thanh Market.
Although the Vietnamese are very nice people, I can't help but feel scared when they grabbed hold of me so as to promote their stuff to me. The stalls were very near to each other and the stallholders usually sat on stools. So when u walk the small pathway between stalls, u will feel some hands grabbing u from out of nowhere.

Ate at one of the foodstalls. They provided us with lots of chillis and limes for our meal.

Preparing our lunch.

We sat on small stools and the table to put our food is small and long. We were confined to eating with our arms staying as close to ourselves as possible.

Vietnam is well known for their Pho noodles. I think we all had Pho~
Was the first time we drank Vietnam's fruit juices and we truly love it. Singaporean juices were so much diluted. Boohoohoo~

We got very restless in Ben Thanh Market since we didn't have enough rest the night before at the airport. Hence, we went back to our hotel room to take a shower and a small nap. The hotel staff thought we came as 3 people only and so they gave us a room suited for 3. When we turned out to be 4 people, they shifted another bed into the room and made it kind of squeezy.

Name of our hotel: Luan Vu.
The hotel staff is really very nice! The stay was very cheap. We each spent only SGD40 for 4 nights!
I recommend this hotel if ever u are going to Vietnam.

The mobile compass who brought us around.

Had dinner at a nearby cafe. It was considered high class but we spent only SGD5 each and was treated like royalty. Lol. Okie I exaggerated. But the service was very good and the waiters are very well-mannered. Throughout the trip, they were saying that we are living like kings. :D

The food was very tasty. I ate the tastiest porridge ever!

And again.. Nice fruit (banana) smoothie!

And Simba bought new slippers from a nearby shop we passed by. Reminds me of Pocahontas!

On our way back and also to our next destination: Saigon Square.
Passed by a park again. The locals were playing badminton, doing exercises, sitting on the benches and chatting away... Don't remember our parks were so filled with many people. We are all at home and online. Lol.

The row of motorcycles parked by the park.
All colours, all designs.

A roadside toy store.

The youngsters in school uniforms formed a circle and began playing Chapteh. We watched them play for awhile and they aren't conscious of our appearance. Maybe too engaged in it. They are really experts at it. The chapteh seldom touched the ground.

A seafood restaurant beside Saigon Square. The 2 girls took a look at the menu to check out the prices. :D And we decided to have our dinner there the following evening.

Hahaha. Simba seemed to always know what to pose as when I pointed my camera at him. Cute!

And we reached Saigon Square. (I planned the iternary for the first day and it was all shopping!) Bought quite a few things there. Hehe.
The tour guide told us that if we want average quality but low priced items we could get it from there. He said that the Ben Thanh Market is quite a famous tourist attraction and so quality of the items wasn't as good but prices were higher.

A 'go' sign specially for motorcycles!

Passed by a night market on our way back to the hotel.

And just like Hainan Island, 3 or 4 people could squeeze onto a motorbike. Most of these bikes involve children. The locals are mostly thin too, like the Hainan people.

Tried their sugarcane drink and it was positively reviewed especially by Sharon.

Found a man walking around the roadside selling balloons!~ Many beautiful designs~
Oh.. I was told by my cousin that the Vietnamese didn't know Chinese or English and that I should learn some Vietnamese to communicate with them. But to my surprise, they could speak English with rather accurate pronounication. :D Some of them could speak Chinese too!
That concludes Day One of our trip. Will blog more often~ Promise!
