I was sitting slightly behind where the wing of the plane was. I kept looking at the mechanism of the wing rather than the scenery. Omg. Poisoned by engineering!
Tao Yuan Airport
The trip we looked forward for very long has finally arrived. Love it!

It was 6 51pm when we reached.

I think Taoyuan Airport was quite small and log-koh. Changi Airport is much more well-furnished! We walked around and was saying, "Eh that's all?!"
Baggage collection. We have no terriorist looks and the customs believed us when we said we had nothing to declare. We walked straight out of the door. The man in front was pouring out his things on the counter and explaining what he used them for. Poor guy!
After applying for the Youth Cards at the Tourist Information Counter, we went to search for the free-go bus. Youth cards can give us discounts when u visit certain museums or places of interest. Application is free ;) U just have to be between the age of 15 to 30 i think.
The Taxi Counter people kept asking us to take a cab to our hotel. It costs NT$1300 one way. About SGD$60 for two. Omg. The Free-go (Fei gou) bus costs only NT$130 one way (SGD$6) per person and it stops at most hotels in Xi Men Ding. We rejected them of course.
I tried to tell the Free-go counter that we are going to Paradise Hotel (I said it in English) and she didnt understand. Luckily a colleague of hers came to help her! Remember to know the name of your hotel in Chinese next time when u go to Taiwan.
We were lucky as they said there were the last 2 empty seats in the bus that was about to leave. We hurried to the bus terminal! On our way there, a man suddenly snatched simba's lugguage and gave him a baggage claim sticker. Simba got a shock and seemed to resist until i willingly gave my lugguage to him. The man was a busy staff so he appeared to be a bit rude. lols. That was so funny. Simba kept denying that he thought that the man was a robber or sth.
The 2 empty seats weren't next to each other. We were separated and i was scared of getting lost. lols. Sua ku people are like that.

It took only 40 minutes to reach. I was glad that the bus driver wasnt driving too fast on the expressways and was careful. The room was quite small ;)
We sat to look at the map. But after a while, he asked me to follow him as he has this gut feeling that xi men ding was in that particular direction he pointed.
It was about 8pm when we reached. Wasting no time, we hurried down to xi men ding.
The first thing i bought there were two small sling bags. They have cute designs on them. Something like the bag Ling gave me (my school bag) and something i think Carine will love! ;) I bought them partly due to the friendly seller. He was a Taiwanese uncle who said simba and i look very cheerful and we must have come from a sunshine country Singapore. lols. He even showed us a $50 Sing dollar note. He began going on and on about Singapore after we seemed to respond to him by laughing. So cute! He noticed my tiger teeth as soon as i smiled ;( I didnt actually choose properly as the uncle kept talking to me! But all of them were nice though. The decision was so difficult! In the end, i pointed at two anyhow and paid NT$500!
After lots and lots of consideration, we went to the 4 storey KFC for dinner. We were famished.
Simba told me to try the egg tarts as he remembered they were really nice! ;) And yes yes they were so nice! Soft and crispy. The menu was in Chinese and we had difficulty ordering lol.. The fries were tasteless btw. Think cos Taiwanese are healthy people so not much salt in their fries. And they only had ketchup, no chilli sauces at all. The chicken was okie, not as nice as Singapore's :P

The XI MEN station. Simba said we should find it that night so that the next morning we can rush to the mrt as soon as possible (since we had a packed schedule!)
The steamboat restaurant near our hotel. The restaurants there were mostly catered for steamboat, ma la steamboat to be exact. We had a hard time finding cafes without steamboat actually.

Toy Story 3! Am glad that we knew English at that point of time. Imagine the Taiwanese busy looking at the subtitles while watching Toy Story. Sad huh!
The mini cinema. It is a building of its own. Sg has too little space to build a cinema building. Ours is always on the top floor of shopping malls.
The popular Rainbow Hotel that was fully booked when we tried to book it even mths ago.
Simba went into this shop in which its design was inspired by schools. They have lockers by the fitting rooms. so cute.
The most memorable time on our first day was during 11 plus when we chanced upon a shop along a small alley. I was asking the salesgirl how much that romper cost. I decided to buy it and she started promoting to me accessories, clothes and bags. She was really good! Kept talking until i feel so obligated to buy more things from her. Quite scarry! We spent about an hour in the shop (till midnight) omg and i spent about SGD$150 just in the shop. I bought about 10 necklaces, 1 ear ring, 1 romper, 1 blouse and 1 coin pouch. ;P My eyes widened when i saw she keyed in NT$3400 in her pink calculator. I knew I overspent even on the first day. lols. She said her name was Kui Kui and asked me to bring all my girl friends to her shop the next time i come. Simba said next time i sure subo my friends, bring them there then i run away lols. ;)
He bought 2 of those cool-designed shirts. I chose them! Must claim credit. :P
He tried them on as soon as he got back to the hotel room. LOL. Just more excited than me. Yeah, he dyed his hair black ;p
